Definitely worth going after.

Is he tho? We spent a bit of money on him & ended up releasing him before his contract ended last time + didn't really suit the 4-2-2-2 at Sydney. We are not a great fit for him and vice versa.

Didn't his missus hate it here last time and was a big reason behind him going back across the ditch?

He'd be a good pickup, but I don't think that's a bridge that can be mended. Happy wife, happy life and all that.

You have to be kidding after last time. Hope like hell Talay has his sights set for someone who will show more than Kosta has recently.

yeah nah!
he's fading at best, not the type of older player we need in the squad.

Queenslander 3x a year.

He's not that old and no one at Sydney really had a great year, so I wouldn't hold that against him.

Is he a visa player, no. Is he better than our current options up top, yes.

He should be considered.

Unless he wants a pay cut I don't think its worth it would rather most of our money goes into our imports and then fill the rest of the squad with local younger talent

yah, I just dont see a 32 yr old Kosta fitting into our team. The club seems focused on developing our younger talent, so I'd rather see the $$ spent on a decent name import than an older Kiwi that never really kicked on the first or second time he was here. 47 games over 4/5 years with 7 goals isnt exactly great. If he had his victory form about him I'd be more keen but he never really seemed to want to be here anyway.

To be fair to him, when he was last here the team was in turmoil and a lot of pressure was put on his shoulders, he might be happier and perform better in a better run and resourced team.

Yeah but his personal off field issues were more  to blame  than anything to do with what was happening at the Phoenix.

Edit - sadly no upset, though Hearts took it to ET (0-0 in NT).
Rangers won 2-0 (goals 94 & 97 mins)  Devlin off in 105th min. Full 120 mins for Atkinson.

I'm surprised that Cam Devlin hasn't made the latest Socceroos squad. His Hearts team mate Nathaniel Atkinson has.

Graham Arnold named a very weird squad. Picking Redmayne, leaving out Cummings etc etc

I wish he'd stayed long enough with the Nix to become a kiwi.  He's the missing piece of the AW midfield puzzle.

Some hearts feedback appears to be quite mixed about him. But I guess you’re never going to please everyone.

Or the inevitable calf injury that will keep him out when they face the nix.
Expect his mate Joshy should get confirmed at the jets soon also.

YoungHe.\rt

Just a brilliant way to spend restrictions too. Stay at home, wherever your feet take you.
And you can see why he was a good captain if he can manage 3 young kids in a caravan for that long!

Nelfoos get any postcards?

The Durantes actually popped up on Aussie TV last year with their caravan. Irish comedian Jimeon (who's lived in Aus a long time) was doing a travel show and bumped into them in a caravan park somewhere rural NSW from memory.

A Twitter thread on Kopa talking about a Rudan pre-season

Who could believe that same coach was later outed as a bullying, egotistical nightmare... What a cod Rudan was

Hundreds of teams do these army drills. Warriors did it, and also had players faint (Siliva Havili by memory) Steve Taylor talks glowingly about it and seemed happy that he finally got to do it.

There are many reasons to hate on Rudan, but this isn't one of them.
Kopczynski was just soft.

Dosnt mean they work with every team though. Dosnt seem to do the Warriors much good. Seems to be as much about the manager and how he handles the players as much as the actual physical nature of it.

That team pulled the Phoenix out of a bit of a funk they'd been in for a few years and seemed to have good comradery, Kokpzynski also enjoyed his time here and publically stated he wanted an extension, Kurto obviously left with Rudan. I don't think it was necessarily bad, and Kokpzynski is probably just telling the story, not complaining. I doubt he's upset about it.

I wouldn't want to do that training, but then I'm not a professional athlete.

Rudan prided himself on breaking people down and creating a bit of a bunker mentality in the squad imo. All that stuff about poor little Wellington Phoenix etc. Not for everyone I guess.

We judged his results against the turmoil of the end of Ricki’s tenure, the good and the bad of Merrick and Darje. He also had Singh, Krishna and Cacace developed through the club who were top players in their positions in the A league. Heck I enjoyed watching Krishna and David Williams carve up. Exciting stuff. Getting Taylor a total coup.

I think we’ve seen since there are other ways for managers to run a squad and also get very good results.

Good on him. I wish Louis all the best.
Actually I just remembered, he's got that great big Lion on his back! Great fit with the Lions.

Maybe he just felt that professional footie was beyond him physically or he was just sick of the diet and fitness routine all professional sports people stick to.

At the time he said he doesn't want to play at any level and had given away all his boots, so it's a surprising  U-turn, but good on him.

I’m guessing Ridenton was involved. Gets a few mths in the QLD winter sun, and a top chance to finally win a championship. Lions are top of the log

Think he is studying a property development course (or similar) at Uni of QLD, and idea was always to head over there this year to finish it. Now he just takes his boots with him
