It boils down to: Adam Goodes is the captain of the Sydney Swans and an Aborigine, like many top-rank AFL players. Crouds yell racist abuse at him, because white Australians make Paul Henry look politically correct. Goodes' reactions to this - not just smiling and nodding, but calling out a 13 year old girl who called him an ape and celebrating goal by miming a spear-chuck - just seem to increase the "I'm not racist but that b**ng is too uppity and should f**k off back to the Outback if he can't take banter" reactions.

I know the story about that but this is why I ask if I am missing something.

I say 'Waitangi day should be renamed invasion day'

You tell me if I don't like it, leave NZ

How is that racist telling me to leave NZ?

This is why I think I am missing something here. I don't tolerate racism but I am missing a rather large chunk of the story I think whereby this is viewed as being racist.

Adam Goodies is Aboriginal. His people have been Australian since before the Ice Age, whereas McMasters have been there about 0.5% of that time. To call any Aboriginal person "unaustralian" is like telling Maori to go back where they came from. Racist AND bloody stupid.

I haven't been following this too closely but have seen bits of the war dance after he scores.

Irrespective of him being Aborgiginae, Maori or from the Klan, I think everyone agrees it is an aggressive dance.

I have no problem with one expressing their culture and I have no problem if one celebrates with a war dance.

But it depends on who he is facing. If it's his own supporters then fine. Celebrate like that or any way you wish.

If however it's the opposition fans then it is a tad too aggressive and will provoke people.

Let's imagine Jacob Burns running to the Fever zone and doing that dance. I have no doubt he would get a nasty reaction.

What is Jason Hicks up to?

I thought he generally did quite well for us with the limited chances he got.

Didn't someone was he had a trail in SA.

In other news, will try get to see Cunningham when I'm passing through Costa Rica. His club side is based just outside of San Jose so hopefully won't be too difficult.

I heard through a common acquaintance that he is in Auckland now.

Yea he is in Auckland at the moment, but has something in the pipeline in Australia. I thought it was Victoria, but could be SA

Boxall started, with Cernak coming on as a sub during extra time. They ended up losing 3-1 in extra time to Bidvest Wits in the MTN 8 Cup competition.

This makes me happy Alex Smith was a really genuine, interesting, happy bloke. Hope he picks up another deal.

90min +2min: Nkhatha 1st Yellow Card

90min +3min: Nkhatha 2nd Yellow Card, Red card.

Dylan Macallister just popped up and scored for Rochdale Suns against Perth Soccer Club in the FFA Cup. No surprises that it was a header.

Always thought he was played in the wrong position when he played for us...but always liked him as a squad player

Nice of him to dress for the occasion :-)

Might be missing it - but not once in these Burns articles have I seen him thank Ernie/the club for getting him out of the football doldrums.

Ernie did what no other coach has been able to do for him - turn him into a consistent goal scorer.

Yep and we have fond memories of Vuka as well. Great to have someone who responds to the fans, who has a sense of humour.

Wet and windy arvo at the cake tin. Tando in goal for Perth, Vuka pumped one down field, one bounce and off the crossbar. Hell even Vinnie scored that day! Think we ended up winning 3 or 4-nil
