Am I right in thinking that the kick-off times for the double-header in Wgtn haven't been released yet? Am trying to book a flight down on that Saturday and want to make sure I get in well before kick-off.

Correct. Chances are it'll be something like 4.30pm and 7.30pm. If you book flights that arrive by 1pm you'll be able to make it to the stadium in plenty of time.

Wouldn't be surprised if it is earlier though given it is winter. Newcastle have to be back in Auckland that night apparently so I reckon 3pm KO is likely.

Arrive first thing in the morning and have breakfast at the Backbencher.

They will also be going 'family friendly' on this so I'd be surprised if they have a kick-off as late as 7:30 for the second game.

I read on the nix facebook the other day they are investigating a third game for wellington, and suggested for planning to work on gates opening at 10am and all finished by 7.30pm (at the very latest)

I bloody hope not.... I want to leisurely drive down from Napier at a reasonable hour and stay overnight. Rather than coming up the previous night or an early start with organising kids, women etc..... 3 games would be too much anyway wouldn't it? ok if it was a nothing game and they played it first, would hate to have the 2 EPL teams playing first and last.

Waiting for Australian TV rights I assume. The nix could be playing first early afternoon if Sydney gets the right TV money I'd say.

That would suit me.

  • Wear old stripey under Toon stripey.
  • remove toon stripey after game 1.
  • Yell abuse at Bling in game 2

I'm debating what shirts to wear too. NUFC one first half, Phoenix second half and for sydney game? Or the other way if we play 2nd

Or you could keep on your toon kit.

WHam is Toon in disguise (Carroll and Nolan at least).

Indeed, and if I thought the hammers had in any way a decent record against the mancs, I might be off to the TAB with a big wedge! As it is we have BFS and hoof ball vs ticky tacky. Can really go one except.......perhaps......maybe.......you never know....bring back Tevez for one last game but give him claret and blue shirt. COYI.

there is as much chance of us beating City as there is of Kylie Minogue wandering up to me and saying "I need you inside me.....immediately", followed by my wife going "ooooh, go on then". And then Cameron Diaz running up behind me and going "oh yeah, I want in on a piece of this", and then Kylie asking me if I was cool with letting Cameron getting involved and me saying only if we let Sofia Vagara in on the fun as well (she happens to be walking past). Sofia goes "yeppity" and Cameron and Kylie both go "ok" and then Kylie says that as this was all her idea she'll pay for the hotel and cab and we all go to a nice hotel and have sexy fun times and I don't disgrace myself at all.

Yeah, not very likely.

I just got an email from Nix to say that they're swapping it round. That's awesome - having you guys next to us will be best.

Now, Northerner-baiting chants: go :)

Have already renewed my foundation membership - how do we get the free ticket?

Do we have to apply for it? Or will our season ticket card just work?

wow. What absolute douche bags. Can we get our local team against Liverpool? No- we've got the mickey mouse plastic All-stars that no one gives a crap about and play disjointed football in a city that you can't get too where prices are prohibitive.
Instead of trying to increase profile for the game how about we fine you 250 k? We can subsidise Del Piero, Heskey etc etc, but try to keep fan interest up over the long pre-season and get some interest and members and ...
