All.  Chance TVNZ might join us in the zone Friday night just to get peoples feelings on the Phoenix and what is happening.  The lad doing it (Shaun or Sean) is a Phoenix fan from way back so if we can help him out it spreads the Phoenix and Fever name.

I have reminded him about the risk of intoxication.

Its Sean Hogan, he is the guy I am working with doing a Fever Dreams story which is one of the reasons why they will be at the game on Friday too.

So not intrepid reporter Craig Stanaway then?

Apologies sir. I must try harder.

To be honest, all the stuff thats been going on, I have chosen to stay out of it cause I think its a lot of beat up and emotion and I don't believe for one second that the death of the Phoenix is imminent. However I respect peoples right to feel that way and wont piss on it - hence its easier to stay out of it.

Despite my earlier comment about the rain and cold etc,  I sincerely hope that the club get between 10 & 15 thousand at the game. Makes for a great atmosphere.

Pax is the total number of tickets allocated for a game. When you get a ticket from ticketek it has a pax number on it so you can keep track of how many are allocated. The number includes all season tickets and complimentary tickets given to sponsors etc so the actual attendance on the day will always be a bit lower than the pax number.

I don't know how it jumped up by 2000 between the 2 posts up there though....

I made a return as Media Whore for this topic because the topic fires me up. Fair to say Neil Ratley toned down my comments significantly for print purposes.

Just purchased 8 tickets for work mates to join this week, PAX of 10689!

Also keep up the good work on the media lads, none of this crew have been to a footy game before but had all heard this week was a biggie and wanted to be part of the fun.

That's the annoying thing, if you buy 4 tickets, the fees don't seem outrageous.  But if you already had your ticket then that ads a lot to that extra ticket.

I've always wondered how ticket companies get away with advertising ticket prices without the booking fee/ credit card fees included when there is no actual way you can purchase it without paying those. It's like if you were at the supermarket buying milk and it said $2 a bottle and you got to the counter and they charged you $2.80 because there was a  $0.60 transaction fee and a $0.20 carrying the milk from the fridge fee. I know they say in the fine print "plus booking fees" or whatever but it still seems like it should breach some sort of advertising standard.

Edit: my stupid fudgeing phone - I obviously made a typo and it auto corrected "buying milk" to "Guyon Milne". WTF?

It is called holding a gun  to your head, take it or leave it. It really does my head in with the extra charges. Webjet is another site with lots of add on that boost up the price of a cheap ticket

Used to be plus GST - and then they out lawed that.

Air fares used to be plus taxes- and then they out lawed that.

The diffence is that with Webjet you can take your business elsewhere. Ticket companies have monopolies on the events they are selling tickets to. You just have to take their bullshark

Air New Zealand and JetStar both got in trouble for not including booking fees and transaction fees up front.

The situation is the same everywhere, in the US they have the base price then the usual tax etc not advertised but also a purchase fee, a credit card fee, and a fee for picking it up.

Time, then, for Roly Bonevacia and Jeffrey Sarpong, who came through the famed Ajax system together, to pick up the attacking slack.

Having half the opposition team kick lumps out of him every week hasn't helped Bonevacia recapture the form that saw him become such a star of the league last season. Sarpong, meanwhile, has barely fired a shot.

"I'm very patient with him, he's on track," Phoenix coach Ernie Merrick said of Sarpong.

"I would just like to see him playing the way he trains, because he trains extremely well and scores goals at training so we know what he's capable of and he needs to deliver under match-pressure."

So he's the Anti-Ifill then

He needs to be way, way more confident. He shirks from challenges and doesn't hold the ball up. Needs to look at how Krishna does it.

To be fair, he didn't have a pre-season because of that injury and that is always going to affect performance. At this stage, I'd rather still have Kenny C though..

Huge dilemma

Friday is a Black out the Heart/Adelaide game but:

  • Last time I wore stripey we lost to FFA FC (will be the closest I get to wearing black)
  • Last time I wore sexy white away (2012-14 season) we beat Roar
  • Am expecting the Shorty St Tees to arrive in the next day or two

What to wear?

No shortland st tees yet and we did win with the away strip so that will be my attire, plus beanie and scarf.  May go old school and bring along the flags.

On the booking fees, is there some way to buy a ticket with the member's discount online? First time I've done today so I phoned and it's a ridiculous $9 fee for doing it over the phone. Ended up the same as just booking a full price ticket online and getting it emailed without the discount.
