Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

What we really want are players that want top give their all Players that do not   pass the ball around at the back ( reminding me of the Knights and Kingz played) and then give away possession.Players that spill their blood  until they drop. Players that can pass the ball to another player and players that run towards the ball to receive it.
There seems to be some thing wrong with their attitude. Do they get on with each other There does not seem to be any camaraderie within the team. What is required  is some team building.
Why did Coveny not go or  play on Sunday I thought he would have been ideal to throw him  on in the last twenty five minutes. He is some one that works his butt of. He may be getting old but he still has the passion.Ih on the outer or id they see that write up before they chose the side
I thought Smeltsie lacked any of his usual work rate and just got fed up with the lack of ball he was receiving. Im sorry but since Tony Lockhead came back from England he has done nothing for me .
Im sorry if I feel  like a winging pom but I travel from Palmerston North to watch every home game ,have tickets for the Sydney game on the 7th November and Im starting to reget buying the 6 airline  tickets to Aussie
Rickie Herbert said judge me on the 2nd year. Why does he keep changing the team every week Is that going to inspire any confidence with in the players
The crowds are getting smaller and smaller. What do you exspect if you want bigger crowds start winning or at least START TRYING
Am I asking too much I enjoyed last year better

i expect it's already been mentioned, but it pissed me off to see some of our lot having a laugh with Perth players after the end

it doesn't suggest that they cared a lot about losing

That's the trouble with Generation Y. They want it all NOW.

Which explains why they're never satisfied. Because when they say they want something now, a second later that now has become then, and is consigned to the history books.

A bit like a few of the Wellington Phoenix players should be in light of their seeming lack of passion for the cause. The gaffer's not entirely blameless, either, but despite his shortcomings, there are still too many players who are going through the motions.

Some of the passion in evidence on the terraces would be better harnessed on the pitch

It would be interesting to hear what the FFA's take on things Wellington-related is at present. Last season, they were profuse in their praise re the club's progress from nowhere to go-where.

Somehow, I think their tune will be decidedly different right now, and sooner or later, they'll be wanting to know why things are as they are, and what the bloody hell is going on, with honest answers to be forthcoming sharpish, ideally yesterday!

They must be Generation Y group members as well! :-))

Cheers,

JR

Former  Wellington Phoenix captain Ross Aloisi understands why public pressure is mounting on coach Ricki Herbert but says it is the players who must show more fight if they are to dig themselves out of a serious A-League form slump.

I don't want instant success I would not mind if they lose ( Well I would mind but at least TRY
Give your all  and be able to   walk away and thought well at least they tried
Its not the fact they are losing its the way they are losing
BTW how do you define generation Y I would be interested to know how I fit in

I suspect if Ross was still involved somewhere then a few arses would be being kicked after the last few performances

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Interesting to see Ross refer to the Nix as "we" also... after listening to Leo talk about "they" referring to last (and, yes I know the logic side) year... makes me wonder how things are in the camp... the players are playing as though there is little pride in playing for the Nix... or for one another... or for the fans... or for the coach... why are they there??? For the weather? lol

Thats the most disappointing thing... if they were busting their guts but not getting the breaks then most of us would be quite happy and confident that things would soon turn around if they keep working hard... though it appears they're far from doing that...

Would be good to see the players hang a hard left when they walk out of the tunnel on Sunday and face us fans!!! Let them know why they're there... and to work their arses of for us and each other.

It's not quantum physics.

I totally agree with surgeQld. If the players are not prepared to play for and be commited to the club, then just what the hell are they doing here? Just go away and do not bother to come back.   Either play with pride and passion for the club or leave!

2.shane smeltz's finishing
3.the fans
4.big vaughan

1. ferrante- crap
2.karl dodd out of position in the midfield- turns slower than a litre of milk
3.Daniel- airhead
4.johnson- past it, no legs, cant pass on the deck
5.lochead- gives the ball away 8 times out of 10 and cant deliver into th box
6.Sigmund- hasnt heard of goal side and apparently couldnt tackle a sunday lunch

get off rikis back he cant exactly go attracting top quality players!and  the players hes got dont seem too bothered about giving a 110% hence the bollocks we see on the pitch week in and week out.

And who is supposed to motivate them so that they do care and give the '110%'? By the way, I do hope that you realise it's impossible to give more than 100%...

Yes, can't wait for this Sunday!

Looking forward to seeing Aloisi play (and hopefully not score) and a Cole freekick (which rebounds off the bar)
