How much more easier does parking at railway station to get train, or just driving straight in, have to be for Hutt residents? Maybe Wellnix should develop a drone system to pick people off their front step and fly them straight to their designated seat at the stadium.

How much easier does a 600m walk from a train station have to be for wellington residents?

Exactly the same thing. More hutt residents come out for games at Westpac than there seem to be wellington residents willing to come out to Lower Hutt.

In fact it is a lot easier for residents from wellington to get to Lower Hutt than it is for people from Upper Hutt etc to get to Westpac stadium.

Thats probably very true. But i think its easier to get from the hutt to wellington, than the other way around. From upper hutt you get on the train at upper hutt station, and when you get off youre there. If you could get a direct train from Miramar to Upper Hutt, you might get more people heading out. I dunno. Ive never commuted to and from Hutt on a regular basis so i might be missing something..

Thankfully for me i live on Willis Street and dont really have an excuse not to go to games, even those in the Hutt.

You can say the same thing about getting from any suburb in Upper Hutt to the train station (with way less frequent buses). Except you then have an hour long train ride instead of a 20 minute one.

Trains are not free as buses are for season ticket holders. Club should really organise that people with tickets get free public transport to and from the game. Should boost pre-sales a little bit, knowing that you need to have a ticket to get the deal.

I'm prepared to get the train, bus or drive to a game. I see that as a requirement of attending any live sport.
If where you live makes travelling to the game difficult or inconvenient, then attendance is determined by your level of interest/desire in watching a 'live' game (also having friends prepared to be the sober driver on rotation)
Please appreciate that travel to most home games on Wellington buses is free, as a season ticketholder.
Look upon any extra travel cost to the Hutt as a small contribution to watching the 'Nix in a boutique stadium

Note: This may be my first 'positive'/'non-negative' post. Normal service to be resumed very quickly :-)

Tickets? Tickets? We talkin’ about tickets?

pic number 2 is relevant.

How high do you reckon the temp stands will be, I hate watching from ground level.

I thought some people may be interested in how things were progressing.  But will stop posting if it is annoying.

Positive encouragement yet again? Take no notice O6! Some people are just never happy regardless of what others do. I think it is interesting to see how this ground is being transformed but I guess we are just a small minority.

I think the problem people have with the photos is that the development at the far side of the ground from the existing stand has nothing to do with the stadium the Nix are building, that's why it's not relevant.

The main take outs for me are that with two weeks to go, the ground is in mint condition and work is about to commence on assembling the temporary stands. Thanks to Ocean06 and Mr Stevens for the Pics.

The other take out is that you'll never get everyone to agree. Some people are interested ONLY in the construction of the ground for the Nix games. Others are interested in that PLUS the other work at the Hutt Rec. Some are not interested at all. Some think the photos could be better, some think they are great.

That's normal.

If you don't like O6's photos, go and take som better ones yourself. O6, don't stress if some people are critical - there will always be some of that. Some of think it is great that you took the initiative to go and take some pics. Personally if you took a close up of the sole of your shoe I wouldn't mind. Do whatever makes you happy.

Seriously, why are people getting angsty about some photos? If you don't wanna see photos/discussion, don't come on the forums. Easy.

My comment regarding the photos was in response to someone saying it was a shambles. The fact the so called shambles is no where near the pitch was the reasoning behind my comment. Of course the development of the ground is interesting even though these three games are likely to be the only ones at the ground for a long time

Good. Well we've pretty thoroughly discussed the pros/cons of the photos. What I'm really pissed about is the choice of camera.

Next topic please.

What base course material have the contractors used here?  Have they considered lime stabilisation as cost-effective alternative?

lime stabilisation really can help to improve the looking of base course material and help to change them a lot roading and hard surfaces if choosing the right type and right style of base course for you, of course that you will look and become more and more attractive and also buy cheap lime now is easy as you can just get the ideal style that you want online at online shops now. I have just buy me a long curly bag of cement and it is perfect.

Your base material is ineffectual?

Those temp seats can be assembled pretty quickly. They've installed 3000ish in the space of 4-5 days at other venues in the past

My "relevance" question which triggered some angst :>( was trying to determine whether pics of major earthworks for an artificial pitch were linked in any way to how the temporary seating is coming along and the pitch condition?
