Hit up the parrot n jigger few beers in the sun and then march to the match....I know a few rugby people who live round the hutt rec and their heads would literally explode if a "bunch of soccer poofs" walked through the hutt singing chanting and waving flags :)

Because people having fun while watching sport is a concept so foreign to them?

Other places we should maybe hit up is Brew'd. It's across from Hutt Hospital and same owns as the Nix bar, Bethel Woods.

The Belle Vue is still up and running. Probably be full of disgruntled rugby fans that we have moved in on their turf despite there being no games.

Rugby is definitely a minority support in the Hutt. There are only two Rugby Clubs, HOBM and Petone. Neither has player numbers  as any of Petone, Lower Hutt or Stop Out.

Apart from the Club final HOBM attracted small crowds to their games at Hutt Rec this year.

And then there's Avalon. I see they are doing some sort of redevelopment out there at the moment.

Sorry, yes Avalon which is a small club no bigger than Naenae Football. The Hutt Council is spending $16M developing Fraser Park under the banner of Sportsville which includes Lower Hutt Football. It will have artificial  turf and grass football pitches.

Will certainly be a great asset.

And Upper Hutt

And Wainui

And Eastbourne and there is also Rimutaka. There used to be Naenae, Taita rugby teams but they merged to form Avalon.

Sorry guys my original comments about Rugby Clubs in the Hutt was in response to the above quote. The two clubs in the Hutt closest to the Belle Vue being Petone and HOBM. Apologies for creating confusion.

Not sure where having the tickets as general admittance sits with the FFA's Active Membership Support policies, but then again it doesn't seem to matter for us anyway.

I've heard that the organisers of the Hutt game have been getting pressure to support a YF private bar. Turns out they have no say in the matter & NZ Police/licensing part of the council are the ones with the objection to it.

it must be our reputation for not being completey stupid and out of control. Even after last weeks 12 pubs i didnt notice anyone misbehaving. Obviously the local police and the council have done their homework on how we behave - not. The only issues these days at games is the Red Badge attitude by some of them. Otherwise the fan behaviour is pretty damn good from my observations.

Not sure why, maybe they lump all sports fans in with Sevens fans.

It's a shame the organizers are getting a hard time though when they seem to be doing a pretty good job. They have no control over the licences.

apparently they're very generally uptight and difficult to deal with for all events etc. So it was always going to be a struggle, hopefully they have come around to saying yes. Otherwise there are alternatives anyway, so meh.

(I am Not speaking for the elite, I have nothing to do with any of the planning for this...so could be off the mark).

That's so elitist of us!

BTW who are the organiser? Council? Phoenix?

You've got to balance the event with other factors - residents, other events, supplier availability etc.

You can't please everyone so not every request will be approved.

Council are the organisers working closely with the Phoenix. They are ambivalent to a YF bar.

I don't think you're getting the whole story Leigh. It's Anita and Co. at the Nix who are building the stadium, so I'm fairly certain they are organising the whole thing.

Fair enough, but my point stands that Leigh isn't getting the whole story about a Fever drinking location.

From what I understand, there is a beer garden being set up but YF were hoping to use the onsite club rooms as their own dedicated drinking area but are struggling to get a licence for it. I might be wrong but I'm just getting a story from one end and was interested in how the YF see it.

The games at Hutt Rec are a joint venture between the Wellington Phoenix and Hutt City Council.

The Phoenix are not in control of the licensing arrangements so all private functions are dealt with as per usual City Council licensing regulations.

Will there be a seating plan to distinguish between gold, silver and silver bleachers?

Yellow Fever will be in the Yellow Section at end of ground at request of some fever members. For these games it will be in the Soul stand.
