Just thought for people that are thinking about transport to the game. (Hopefully buses will be provided from town). If not then the train is a good idea from Upper Hutt or Wellington and get off at Woburn, its only a 5-10min walk from there.

Was thinking of contacting Hutt Valley High School and Sacred Heart College to see if they were thinking of putting on parking, could be a little money raiser for them too. (Was thinking about the Ronald McDonald Family and them getting to the game and having somewhere to park)

Also you will see an area by Puriri Street just up from the train station, should be parks around that area and back towards the train station would be quite good, especially if you are heading back into town, as you just turn out left onto Ludlam Crescent, head through Moera and down the Petone foreshore back to Wellington.

Too easy, you're dealing with the council as well. Probably need a permit to park or their vultures, errr, parking wardens will be out on overtime.

They areas near the train station etc are not time zoned areas as people normally park and ride from there into town anyway.

Not sure what the rules would be for a school charging for event parking but schools in Thorndon appear to do it when events are on

$10 or $15 would be OK for the schools to charge I think.

Make it. Tenner and keep it simple. No need for change then for the most part, except people giving 20's.

I have no decision in how much they will charge if they do decided to have parking at the schools, but was just hoping that they would and was going to ring them to suggest it and try get a park for the RMHW families.

I've never been to hutt rec but there seems to be some parking at the northern end which the Phoenix would be using, maybe talk to them about reserving a park there?

for football united, the Green Man put on buses to thr stadium.  How hard would it be for Phoenix to do the same I.e. from station to rec and back as a shuttle service? Unless of course your ticket allocation wait list is over subscribed. ...

people from the Hutt Valley take (sometimes 2) buses and trains to the game every fortnight. How hard is it for Wellington City residents to do the same?

Starting to sound like Aucklanders.

Next season they are looking at game up Ruapehu and on the Moon, both almost as difficult as a 25 minute trip to the Hutt Valley.

Hell of a walk from Woburn station. Must be all of five minutes.....

Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

The Republic of Lower Hutt accepts cash, cheques and credit cards. They also have electricity however they do frown on you hitching the horse up to the nearest lamp post.

Just as well the games are not at Newtown Park. All of the recently released convicts hanging out in the "up market"  Newtown Park Flats and all the nutters who should be in asylums,  occupying the half way houses in Riddiford Street.

Imagine trying to navigate that lot on the way to a Phoenix game.
