The Lower Hutt city coh cil and the locals should seize the initiative and develop that grou d into a proper stadium. As suggested about 14k, rounded corners no major roof. It could be done and there is still room to spare to walk the dogand the children had plenty of room to play in. Shark there was even a cricket wickeg being preparsd too. Make it happen and show Petone some forthsight. I bet the Belle did awesome business and rightly so. Their food was great.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Yeah funny that we are told stadium holds 9,000 and yet Croud figure was 9,232.

Looked like more people could have fitted in too.

That's because at any one time 2,000 people were queuing for the loo!

This was at half time.

very glad I left for the toilets 5mins before the end of the half. Even then it was a 15min wait. Imagine it would've been just about twice as long for some of those who left at halftime!

Help me understand something, Why when the game is in motion are so many people wandering around the ground? Are they not there to watch the football??

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Parents with kids that can't sit still that long

People wanting more drink and have run out

People needing food or bathroom before half time and the crouds

There are lots of reasons why people leave their seats, yes they are there to watch the game but for some it isn't the be-all end-all.

Ground was great. Put some permanent stands in with roofs and it would magic.
Was going to take the train in but needed to go somewhere else afterwards so drove and parked by the riverbank. Heaps of parks and only 5-10 minute walk. Win!

That's gold! Gonna make a banner with that on it for next week's game.

My thoughts - over all very good way to watch football.

1. Atmosphere sounded a bit dull from where i was but watching the replay on the tele it actually seemed pretty decent.

2. Not impressed with the bare scaffolding to sit on - i have lots of pulled threads on the arse of a near new pair of Armani jeans, so ended up having to stand for as long as i could get away for without upsetting all the old people behind me.

3. Calling the toilets a piss take would been a compliment, as a queue of about 50 people meant i had to wait 15mins for my piss to be taken.

4. The after match VIP party was very average - no more than 20mins after full time there were only about 5 people left, although cant complain about the free beer and cheesecake - plenty of fuel for the stumble down to Woburn train station, detouring to the swings at Ludlam Park on the way. Even managed to grab a fist full of free donuts before we left the ground.

Overall 8/10. More toilets and a win wouldve made it 10/10. Would happily travel from wellington for every home game at the wreck. Cant wait to atted this weeks game.

There will be more toilets and food trucks this week.

Fritz will also move to the fever end of the ground.

Not to sound like a pompous ass. Is it possible to rope off the fever section until the fever get there. Just so we are not stuck in one corner.

We have wanted general admission to stop this whole your in my seat stuff. Can't really have it both ways

Think the problem is that while there are two types of tickets for the south stand, there wasn't any way divide the stand in half. Hence why we were packed in the corner.

GA should realise what happens in the zone. Including, standing, jumping, chanting and drinking. That might actually stop those "your I'm my seaters" buying in that area.

I could rant more on this topic, but I won't.

The 'in my seaters' didn't buy in the zone.  They just sat there before we turned up.  It meant we were cramped in a small section with an outcrop out the back of the next 'bay' that was meant to be part of the Fever.

Maybe just put up signs before gates open - "Yellow Fever zone - people here will be standing and singing" or words to that effect

There was a massive fudgeing banner that I spent my Friday evening painting hanging up at the back of the bay that didn't seem to deter people, it probably attracted them to the bay if anything.

Hmmm, maybe something to put them off then.... How about a big sign that says "BO-ridden, violent crackhead, Ebola sufferers community outreach programme zone"?

Don't you want to discourage random Hutt residents from sitting there though?

Give them a break, it's only been seven/eight years of standing and questioning the moral fibre of Australians.

They should, you're right, but years of experience tells us all that they don't.

People's brains work like this:

1. Oh, there's the place I want to sit.

2. Who are you people coming to sit near me, you look noisy and rowdy.

3. Rage.

And it happens at every home game, even in the established Zone.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
