A sign/banner say you MUST stand up in the Yellow Fever zone, coupled with a rope down the middle of the soul stand with a sign at the bottom of it and half way up saying "<---- STANDING | SITTING ---->" Is worth trying.

Plus I think people who are sitting in the Fever half of the Soul stand should be spoken to. Seriously.

Plus we should have gone into that half with flags and stood in front of them anyway. Again, seriously.

I don't accept the whole "I paid for my seat and I don't want you standing in front of me BS."

I paid for my ticket too, and I SPECIFICALLY paid for a ticket int eh Fever Zone so I could stand. If yuo want to sit, go to the area where people bought tickets to sit. If not stand up.

If its GA, then  I would think if your ticket is of equal value to mine, then you do not have the right to tell me how I can or cannot enjoy the game. If that means as a paying customer, I sat in the fever zone then so be it. Not that I will be going to the game but that's the principles of the tickets. Ordinarily, there is a Fever Zone. As there is not, I don't think anyone has the right to tell others if they can stand or not. More so, there could be people whom are completely and utter oblivious to Yellow Fever and have not been to a game. To get some one come up with a Yob attitude of 'you have to stand or fudge off' is just rubbish.

Now if there is a difference in price or a specifically designated area on the ticket, that's a different story.

You make yourself sound like an elitist policeman with this post.

Do you intend to line them up and shoot them if they don't listen to you or will you just yell at them and tell them to fudge off.

Again, if the tickets say GA and they are all the same and same price, you have no leg to stand on and could actually earn yourself a smack in the chops.

There is. There just isn't any divider between the two halves of the Soul stand, or any markings to separate the two.

No of course I don't intend to shoot them. Don't be a knob.

No I don't intend them to fudge off... unless they complain about people standing in the Fever Zone... then I would tell them it is the Fever Zone and it is created for the active support section. If they have an issue with people standing int he Fever Zone I would tell them to move. Or stand up.

I am quite happy to get a smack in the chops.

Is there or is there not a zone that is marketed for people who want to stand and chant?

I think there clearly is.

If people knowingly or unknowingly come and SIT in that area, I am just saying we shouldn't be so obsessed with not offending people that we just go away and stand in a corner. We should talk to them and engage with them. This being so PC that we are afraid to actually explain that actually this is the Fever Zone is BS.

We should actually stand up for ourselves and say "Sorry, this is actually the Fever zone. It is for people who want to stand. If you want to sit, go and sit in the areas which are not designated as the fever zone". It's entirely possible they don't know it's supposed to be for people who want to stand.

PC gone mad if you ask me.

If no one has the right to tell someone that they should stand in the fever zone then same applies for the reverse.

It is the active supporters area and if you buy a space there then there are surely expectations of what you're in for.

I think the point that you are missing is that with EVERY stadium the exec go through the trouble of arranging a fever zone so people can stand etc and the same thing happens every time.  Its not about who's the better fan. Its just that that specific area has been put aside for that specific group. If you don't want to be involved in those activities then sit somewhere where those activities are not going to interrupt your own enjoyment of the game

So tickets say which 'Stand' you are in.  So mine says seat is GA but my ticket is for the 'Yellow Fever Soul Stand'.

Whether a GA ticket for the half of the Soul stand that is not counted as 'Yellow Fever' has 'Yellow Fever Soul Stand'.I don't know.

Okay, because you seem to be willfully misinterpreting what it is I am trying to say I will spell it out for you.

I am NOT saying they can't sit in the Fever Zone.

They can sit if they want to.

What I am saying is they can't tell people not to stand in front of them in the Fever Zone.

Note: I did NOT say they can't sit. What I said was:

I don't accept the whole "I paid for my seat and I don't want you standing in front of me BS."

The Fever Zone is specifically set up for active support where people stand and chant.

It may not be printed on the ticket.

I don't think it needs to be, but I do agree it would be good if it was.

I am objecting to the the culture that it is not allowable to engage with people and explain to them that they are sitting in the Fever Zone. Just rolling over and letting them sit there and exclude people who want to stand there is BS.

So much this.

I am saying that rather than responding to people sitting there by rolling over and retreating to stand in the corner, we should stand up for ourselves.

We should explain to them that it IS the Fever Zone, and what that means.

We should NOT retreat to the corner.

We should stand in front of them if we have to.

We should encourage them to stand, or if they don't like that we are standing in the Fever Zone, to move.

I haven't bought a ticket in a while (now out of town) but is there not a little blurb about what people can expect when they book tickets in the fever zone? If not, there should be because it is pretty unique experience here in NZ and some people may not know. Save a lot of angst.

I just bought two tickets in the Fever Zone, and specifically checked for this.

Unfortunately there is no such explantaory blurb.

There should be.

I am pretty sure with ticketmaster when you buy face to face they inform you (season 1 they did this). I am all for telling someone to fudge off (ask them nicely first), they punch me they can be escorted out and I will happily fill out a police incident report.

it does say "yellow fever" on the ticket. As well as the banners across the YF half of the stand that say "YELLOW FEVER"

Short of putting a big blockade between the two halves of the stand, it couldn't be clearer.

Sorry, said ticketmaster, meant ticketek. Also, when entering the Yellow Fever section in the stadium there is a small note next to the entrance. I can not remember what it says though.

It's good if they tell you that when you're booking them face to face, but not sure if the same can be said for online bookings.

Seems silly that you have to in the first place but would save seating/standing angst.

I haven't read past this post yet, but will make the following comments:

1. The fact that YF moved and crunched themselves up in the corner, rather than obstruct those who sat in the zone - is testament to YF being good citizens.

2. YF are an established part of the club and everyone has gone to the trouble of designating YF zones at all of the away matches and at the Rec, it should be no problem for the organisers to [or sanction YF to] put up the sign or the rope or whatever to reserve the area and if people sit there and complain, they can be shown to another part of the ground in as polite a way as possible.

The whole of that  end was the Fever Zone IMHO. Just those in one corner were noisier than others!!
