Going Home - Theme of the Local Hero. Apparently what Newcastle use on game day.

One of the dryest and funniest films around. You have to watch it twice to appreciate its value. Awesome film, excellent music throughout, well done Mark Knophler

If you like Knopfler's soundtrack for Local Hero, you should also listen to his soundtrack for Cal.

On Wests form - it also coincided with American College holidays so they had a lot of lads back from there - Whippy, Collier etc. Might not be quite as strong on the run in.

#InTheZone V125 is out at yellowfever.co.nz/podcasts.

After 37 weeks the All Whites finally have a new coach, so the pod runs their eye over the appointment of Anthony Hudson. Young All Whites coach José Figueira dials in to talk through the start of the U17s campaign, and Miramar Rangers get speed wobbles in the Central League. Andy Cussen from Football Central Australia reviews the Phoenix's FFA Cup loss to Adelaide United, while it's good news for Tom Doyle and delayed news for Michael McGlinchey.

Thanks for poddy. Could have asked Jose who his assistant is. Should be well sorted by now. Also, he had a very PC answer to the private academies question..."FDMs in the region advising me". Lol, the FDMs don't see the private academy players because they're not at FTC.

Will find out if the assistant role has been filled. Not sure how else you can do the private provider thing. There are so many it's pretty hard to get to them all, and if the FDMs are good at their job (big if I admit) they should be aware of who else is in their region. Players/parent can be proactive on this too though.

Like you guys mentioned post jose chat, there's no easy answer aside from throwing a bucketload of money at it. To be fair he's getting around NTCs better than previous incumbents, but FDMs simply don't know Academy players well, if at all. The burgeoning ideological split isn't in the best interests of the players or football in nz.

Ps. Good match report from your man in Adelaide. Sounds like Doyle continues to impress.

Any inkling as to who the 2 Wellington players he's referring to are?

Yes. There were only a couple that went. You know one of them I think. But discussion of individual children on here is probably a bit premature.

#InTheZone V126 is out www.yellowfever.co.nz/podcasts.

This week the pod chats upsets in the FFA Cup, previews the Wellington Phoenix FC v All Whites XI game in Taupo, looks ahead to a massive Chatham Cup semi final weekend by dialling in all four coaches, returns the middle finger back to Tommy Smith, covers Miramar Rangers AFC's retention of the Central League title, and gossips over MMA action in the Premier League.

I am assuming that this must be the theme music this week!

what a quote from News:

That quote was almost as brilliant as the intro song!

The pod inspired me to tweet Tommy Smith and tell him to change his Twitter Profile (says 'NZ All White Footballer), and tell him not to bother playing for us again...

Veitch on the radio last night was saying 'Ryan nelsen did and no one was angry at home'.  Bollocks to that.

There was just as much cynicism every time he was 'injured'.

Laziness sets in among the pod as they speak to Ernie Merrick, Alex Gorrin/Rodriguez, and Glen Moss on things Wellington Phoenix FC, to New Zealand Football's media man, Steven Upfold, on the Chatham Cup semi finals, and to Capital Football's CEO, Richard Reid, on fighting and player behaviour.

Good pod, although you have gotten into the unfortunate habit of releasing them the day before a big nix announcement.

As far as the WeeMac thing dragging out its been way longer than 78 days, before the YF summit there was a rumour going around that there had been talks.

We ruin players with our tee shirts, and cause news to happen by releasing the pod.
