What so he can nip back to into the midfield and send a ball for himself to run onto. Its about the only way he might get any delivery at present.Far to much hope being put on him and not from me.Why is it every team we play recently looks like they have bags load more time and players with genuine speed. Our solution get another older player.

Tonight, how many times did the backs link with the mids and then the mids link with the strikers? Bugger all.

Its our defence. With last seasons defence, we probably wouldve had 3 draws and a win from our last 4 games. Its not like we won a lot of games last season anyway, we just didnt concede anywhere near as many goals. And we were lucky with our finals run that results from other games went our way allowing for two matches at home.

Boring frist half..skipped second.  Who was Greenacre attempting to flick lomg balls onto?  Chances to shoot for others were taken too far..Ifill just turns himself inside out and no one else nowadays.  Mt Doom beckons...

On a positive we only conceded one!

Struggling to find any interest to watch. I used to watch every single game be ready before kick off but now we lack entertaining football, we struggle to score and i just think were missing that bit of spark.

more ball movement, less Ifill and Ward losing the ball?

wot a poor performance that was - ifil not interested, ward/ lia giving away the ball everytime they had it - hearfield just generally poor, and really paston needs to go he does not command the box and thats where the defence struggle not knowing what he is going to do..... no imagination in midfield all elliot/ lia and ward do is crab across the midfield - just poor and it hasnt just been last nite that you can say that about....

This has probably been said before but  for some of you who never got to see them  now you know what it was like watching the Kingz and Knights play you just have to keep turning up every week hoping things will change for the better and it will i'm sure.

Oh and again we have nothing in the middle of the park to spark anything no pace no flair no nothing how many spots have we got left in the team now can we pick someone up in the transfer window ?

If these guys had options presented to them off the ball they would not have to do so much themselves to try create opportunities!

Fact is that the team is not playing like a team therefore any mistakes made by individuals stand out prouder than a honeymooners cock!

You can't blame solely the defense, ok we are not as good now without Mckain, but there was times he was out last season. It's our speed, passing, ball retention in the middle and I'm not convinced about our folk paid to score goals either. We are conceding goals as we are not getting anywhere near giving the opposition problems in their own half. The midfield might as wel notl exist.

We have zero time on the ball, we get closed down and lose it within a second or two. Or if we manage to get a pass off it goes to the opposition or is less than useless. We get long balls out to the wings which either miss the target or get kicked out.

We used to moan about players not taking shots on the edge of the box in the first couple of seasons but we rarely even get those chances now as we are closed down so quickly.

The inspired signings of last season Ifill and Greenie have not been repeated as Ricki had his hands full at the world cup.

Our players with pace, or with the ability to beat a player look jaded, (Ifill and Bertos). Our recruitment policy this year has been short-sighted and the other teams that didn't have to worry about the world cup have, as a lot of people on here have said, grown without us.

I loved it how after 4-5 rubbish performances in a row, ricki trotted out the same starting 11 bar 2 enforced changes with the same aimless tactics. Longballs to 5'6 greeny playing alone up front and shoddy crosses coming in from the wings with out of form players like ifill and bertos and the perenially average hearfield the most guilty. ricki seems to have run out of ideas and hit the wall. i now understand why Kosta has had so much more success this season

rojas, so special

when Lochead is back. that is when we will rise again.
and we didn't do long balls the WHOLE time, some of the time we were doing some really good passing in the midfield. :D
First 20 minutes/first half was good, I don't understand why we can never show in the second.

Agree - another loss so we're all seeing doom

but there were good spells
and at the risk of getting laughed off the forum, I still think we had slightly the better of the second half

but not creating enough chances

as every body is saying not enough movement off the ball
it was noticable watching brisbane after our game how many passes were played into space for players to run onto

that and moving into supporting positions to stop players being closed down by weight of numbers, then moving it quickly to the available space

fixable to go from atrocious to competitive

just wondering if anyone is going to call it in the team

I am tired of hearing Ifill saying he's just not beating players this year and he needs to do better.
Does no one in the team/management have the wit to realise he is being shut down by two and three players and the secret is NOT to try and beat them all, but to move it away quickly
Ricki .... Ricki?

you are rigth last year we had a team who worked hard for each other - we never were brilliant and Ricki should have built on this with the right recruitment. the faces on the bench smacked of men who had given up. the comments about he is off and he is to slow or not beating his man that is all just bluster that says we are playing s**t which has to come down to the culture at training and in the club. the day that Dura came off last year when we lost away and said "that was rubbish we were hopeless etc"was the day we got better he was angry, no one seems angry about how bad we are right now.

going to watch team welly to get my love for the game back

I think the players bought in had great potential - North had the same background as dura, ex jets player, starting socceroo, he just hasn't fitted in well enough yet - probably doesn't help that he's playing cb one week and rb the next. Same with Ward, he had great potential, just hasn't fitted onto Ricki's style yet, once agin, he's a central attacker not a wide player and except for last night we've been trying to attack from the wings.

Queenslander 3x a year.

Anyone else also find it strange that Ricki just sits on the bench vacantly looking on for 99% of the game too? No instructions being relayed or anything most of the time? He barely looks interested, and the performances of the team seem to reflect that too.

Just watching the 'highlights' now...abysmal really. Phoenix are simply making up the numbers! Don't look remotely capable of getting anywhere near their goal, let alone scoring.

It's understandable that you don't see him out of his seat at the touch line, because you're probably watching the game. But I've seen him up at the touch line screaming orders etc a lot. Don't fault him on passion, because that is one thing he does not lack.

Fuck this stupid game

Seriously you go overboard  Steveo and exaggerate things trying to back your points up. You cant have been watching him for 99%  of the time, unless you were at the game and were fixated on him, (in which case call in the men in white coats  ) and I recall him talking to his assistant a few times when the cameras were on him.

He is a defense minded coach, we all know that, it seems he is struggling to get the defense right, let alone get the attack sparked. At least he is going for a proven attacker in Griffiths, hope it is confirmed soon, he cant get here fast enough for me.

Ok, 99% of the time he's on camera, and I see him sitting on his arse for the whole game at Westpac.

Talking to his assistant isn't giving instructions to the players is it?

Maybe that's just his style but I'd prefer a coach who appeared to be more involved in what's going on on the park.

I thought Musa was primarily a centre back? Not sure if playing 4 centre backs isd the answer?

Is Ali Abbas being cited by the FFA and banned for his punch?  If Siggy gets 3 matches for the slightest tap on Adrian Leijer then Abbas should at least get a match.  A punch is a punch.

He's not doing anything different from the majority of the coaches in the league. How many times have the cameras caught the likes of Postecoglou, Coolen, van't Schip and Merrick ranting in the Technical Area? I can't remember any.

The only two coaches I can think of who are constantly standing are Ferguson and that muppet from NQF, and it's not exactly doing their teams much good is it.

f**king hell
