Thanks guys. Will give them a call when I am over in Aussie. Hopefully won't have to told on the line for long to get my tickets

Just buy them online when they go on sale (11th?) , be a lot quicker than trying to call.

Or else (if you have a Visa Card) the following is on Ticketek's site too:

VISA PRE-SALE Pre-sale starts : Tue 9 Oct, 9am Pre-sale ends* : Wed 10 Oct, 5pm General public on sale : Thu 11 Oct, 9amA pre-sale is an opportunity to secure tickets prior to the General Public, not a preferential seating service. A selection of seating throughout the venue is made available for pre-sales.
* or until pre-sale allocation is sold out.
On sale times are quoted in local time.

To take advantage of the complimentary Adelaide ticket offer, you must select the relevant option at time of purchase. All complimentary tickets are from silver best available.

I remember when the Chili Peppers gigs went on sale back at the start of the year there was a Visa pre-sale too and that was on sale through www.visaentertainment.co.nz Nothing there at the moment but check it out on Tuesday morning!!

Good luck!

Got mine.  14 All up, but most importantly the Junior News and I are only two seats of our regular spots (we stole Cnut's seat).

Have to say (and I should have got her name) but the Ticketek person I dealt with was excellent.  Spectacularly painless.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Don't soften the blow news, TICKETWAT website is rubbish, ST James staff are muppets. Had all sorts of problems gettin every ticket, season pass and additonal tickets for games. Sending a weekly email to TICKETWAT and saying " hey lady - why no reply yet about my complaint"

Fot LA game they even had me down in my old location (got a bum seat and wanted it changed - one day got told no, next day Phoenix Tickets rang be back and changed it) So now have two inaugral season pass's. One valid one not, so I carry mini SPG into game for free.
Well maybe not for much longer .

Got 15 tickets for LA Galaxy and Friday. 12 coming from Whakatane to see it, only one wants to see Becks - rest just love the football.

you should of went in to buy them then you would have them in your hot little hands now

I got ours on Monday and went back today to get my dad one and didn't think I would get it discounted but the silly man took my season pass and put details in and bingo my lucky dad gets a discounted ticket also!!

Also bought 5 extras for friends

I'm just back and there were about lots of seats above ours still avaliable in aisle 22

Got mine today. My season seat had (unsurprisingly) already been nabbed but got one relatively nearby.

Apparently it will be sent out tomorrow but I guess we'll see.

Quite disapointed really.

I really thought that season ticket holders should get their prefrence for their own SEATS, like they do for the rugby.

Now cause i wanted to be close to my usual seat i had to fork out 88bucks for gold!!!

I think they really didnt do ANY favours for the members. We bought a season ticket to the nix, give us a discount dammit!!! 18bux not enough.

After all the problems with my season pass I have to say that ticketek really came through with the Galaxy tickets.

Service was really good got seats in my regular season ticket pass seats and was out the door with tickets in hand under ten minutes.

Any news on how many tickets have sold so far?  I'm buying my tickets (I hope) in the Visa pre-sale next week (not heard anything about it from Visa though).  Looking to sit in the prawn zone as usual...

When tickets for the Galaxy game go on sale to the general public, do you think I would be able to stroll on down to Ticketek in Christchurch and buy a ticket, or do I have to do it in Wellington or over the internet?
Permalink Permalink

There's no reason why you couldn't do it in Christchurch. Ticketek are a national operation. Personally, I'd just use the internet - it's nearer.

The closest hotel is the Holiday Inn (pretty much accross the road from the train station), but if you're looking at a cheaper option there the Ibis further down the road (and further away from the Ring of Fire).

The Backbencher is on Molesworth St accross the road from the Beehive, about 5-10 mins walk from the stadium.

After the fiasco they caused with the season tickets, I think it's safer to walk down. Thanks for the advice though.

Having just arrived back in the country after a holiday I see now that Phoenix have now shafted me as a season ticket holder again. Firstly the fiasco in getting a season ticket in the first place, I note that tickets have been sold to the Galaxy match without Phoenix even bothering to e mail me to offer me tickets as a season ticket holder. Now I'm back, I find I can't even book a ticket let alone get my seat that I thought I'd got for the season.
Really have to wonder what the point was of having a season ticket especially as I knew I'd miss a home game by being overseas. This is almost the last straw and when I arrive at the Adelaide game and find my seat has been given away to someone for the weekend - then that is going to be the last straw. I note people are already complaining on here they can't have my seat for that game because they will have it for the Galaxy match. Just shows the season ticket is next to worthless.

PS Maybe someone can also explain why the public get a free ticket to an A League game that I had to pay for, and even if I could get a ticket I'd only get an $18 discount.

You are right about the public getting a discount for the Adelaide game but your season ticket seat for that game is still yours, that has not been sold to anyone. You should still be able to buy a priority ticket to the Galaxy game also, they have only been on sale for a week and the public have not yet been able to buy any, hard to believe its sold out.

I bought tickets for my family, and for the beckham game got 6 tickets together, but for adelaide game I am in my seat and they are sitting elsewhere. would be surprised if they have given your seat for adelaide game to someone else. how did you come to this conclusion??

Was highly publicised that season ticket holders got first dibs on tickets starting this monday, so maybe you have been on holiday for the last month, without access to internet...

Finally, when you bought your season ticket, did you buy it for all Nix games, or any football game held at teh stadium. If it was the latter, I think you need to adjust your expectations of what a season ticket actually is...

Here here Sir Les - very educated comments. I agree.

It has certainly been well publicised, i would not have expected to receive an email when it was all over the news that i had access to the galaxy tickets - a bit unecessary to send over 2000 emails to the season ticket holders. I for one feel i have been very well treated as a season ticket holder and expect nothing more than what has been offered to me. To be able to purchase 8 tickets was more than i could have dreamed of - i have been informed that rugby season ticket holders only get preference for one ticket, we have certainly done better than that.

And yes you cannot expect to get an automatic pass to the galaxy through your season ticket. This game was not on the agenda when season tickets went on sale. If it was, they would have upped the price I'm sure. The season ticket was clearly for the A-League and nothing else. As stated above, to get extra gains such as preferential purchase is only a bonus - i would have bought my season ticket without that carrot.

It is impossible for the game to be sold out yet. The number of season tickets times 8 is less than the capacity, so even if every season ticket holder bought their allowed allocation there would be tickets remaining for public sale. So you can get your tickets when they go back on sale. The dates during which tickets were available for the pre-sale were well publicised. If you missed those dates, it's your problem - do you want the club to check with season ticket holders individually before releasing ticket sales to the general public?

As regards email from the club - do they have our email addresses? Ticketek have them if you bought on-line like I did. I did get an email, but I can't remember whether that was the club or Ticketek.

What makes you think your seat for the Adelaide game has been sold to someone else? This is not the case. People on here complaining that they won't get their Adelaide game are ignoring the facts. Read Tony P's posting and ignore the uninformed whingers.

You have a season ticket. The season ticket was to get you a guaranteed seat for all home A-League matches during the regular season. It does not get you in to any other games. You must buy tickets for any other games that crop up - such as against the Galaxy and when we make the playoffs. As a season ticket holder, you will get the opportunity to purchase ahead of the public. If you miss that opportunity, that's your problem and not the club's. This is normal for a season ticket - what did you want from a season ticket?

[QUOTE=Zephyr]PS Maybe someone can also explain why the public get a free ticket to an A League game that I had to pay for, and even if I could get a ticket I'd only get an $18 discount.

Why do you care that the public that buy tickets for the Galaxy will get a free Adelaide ticket? This is a way of getting more people along to the A-League games and good on the club. If someone gets a free ticket through some promotion, how does that hurt you?

What facts are wrong? I've read here the sale of tickets has closed to season ticket holders and I've read that even if I could buy them then I wouldn't be able to have my seat anyway. As for the prediction about the Adelaide game, I'm just saying on the track record to date nothing would surprise me as I am aware of people turning up to find their seats double booked. Maybe you should take your own advice.
