It was jet lag I reckon - now I've come to my senses and realised I don't want to watch LA Galaxy because they're crap.

Landon Donovan won the US player of the year... he'd be worth watching again.

Probably academic anyway - the Mrs seems to want to see Beckham - doesn't matter how he plays really just that he sorts his hair out before the match. At least I'll get to see what the ground looiks like from some obscure part of the stadium unless it gets sold out before I get there. We can only live in hope.

How come on Tuesday in the Visa pre-sale I got "best available" gold seats in aisle 9, row Z (!), whereas today I checked to see what I could have got in the public sale and could get seats in aisle 9 row MM (almost exactly the same seat numbers).  Now unless I've got this round the wrong way "MM" is almost the very front seating while row Z is the very back.  Sure if it's raining I've got the better seats, and perhaps it offers opportunities for hurling cups of coffee on people down the front, but surely row MM is much better seating?  Ticketek - a special company.

To be honest I think the single letter rows are better - you're higher, so get a better view and also undercover if it rains.

woohoo got my tickets lol different lady today at ticketek haha she had no clue spent the whole time on the phone. the poor dude in front of me(think he might be on here) ASKED FOR ADELAIDE TICKETS SHE SAID YEP BUT THEN REALISED WHILST DOING MINE SHE DIDN'T GIVE HIM ANY LOL I later saw him walking back past so was lucky enough to grab him so he could get them. Thats my good deed for the day. anyway got all my 13 tickets for both games she put it through in on go and didnt mention anything about an 8 per person limit? So sittinng towards the front in aisle 21 JJ and yeah the machine does a random pick supposedly foer the adelaide game even though we said same seats. so we are over the other side in aisle 1 but hey we can aleays move.

Aisle 1 will be interesting if any Adelaide fans are visiting.

Says the man who spends every game in the warmth of the press box ?

When will the advertising for the Yellow-out begin?  Let them know where they are...  Entire crown in our colours will look great!

Do you think we could extend the feverzone for this match, because it'll suck in aisle 14 away from all the noise. I might just go over and stand in the aisle between the seats if the worst comes to the worst. Then again I'll probably get removed by an overzealous security guard who thinks I'm blocking off the way out in the case of a fire.

Yup, I'm a bit sad to be in Aisle 13, but there's nothing to say the entire south end should not be the yellow zone, for the Adelaide game at least.

Ticketek HQ, 12 October 2007

Ticket sales for the Phoenix-Galaxy have been outstanding.  Sales are currently close to 45,000.  Oops sorry that's 450 people.  No, no, that's 4500 people.  Oops I'm sorry FIFA have cancelled the game.  No, no that's the All Whites game.  What game were you asking about again.  Sales for Thomas the Tank Engine have been very strong.  Football you say?  Never heard of it.  That's next year isn't it.  Can I just put you on hold?

The Fever Zone will be as big as the crowd will make it. We need to push for the full crowd to wear as much yellow as their heads will let them.

Herald this morning has Tony P saying 23,000 sold to the Galaxy game, with 7,000 opting in for the Adelaide game as well. 30,000 needed to break even.

If those numbers are correct you have to ask why 16,000 wouldn't opt in for the Adelaide game.  Even if you didn't want to go surely you would take the ticket and either give it to a friend or try and hawk it off to someone.  Strange.

Don't forget to take off the season ticket holders who already have tickets for the Adelaide game - about 2500 isn't it?
But you're right - it does still leave a huge number who didn't opt in for the Adelaide game.

There is every chance that some Galaxy buyers weren't asked by Ticketek if they wanted the Adelaide tickets. And for those who didn't know to ask, they weren't allocated to . Depends on who at Ticketek you got, some of them were clued up, others had no idea.

Indeed.  Many galaxy tickets state 'Both' on them as well and I have run in to people that assumed that meant the ticket covered both games.

If you don't have two seperate tickets you only have the Galaxy game.

Thats interesting to know
I got tickets for friends and I told the guy we wanted tickets to both and as you have said the tickets have "BOTH" on them but i'm 99% sure he only printed out 1 ticket each!

Why does it have "BOTH" on it then??

I will be getting that sorted today

I hope not..I asked for both games and my ticket says both..I read somewhere earlier (Tony P post?) that booths will be put up closer to the game around town to get the second ticket...I relied on that as the means to get my second ticket.

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

Still waiting for my tickets so I'll be sure to watch for this.  The website made it pretty easy to only get tickets for the Galaxy game, as the option to get Adelaide tickets included only kicked in as the fourth to sixth options.  Maybe a sneaky way to boost revenue for the Phoenix - sell Beckham tickets at $100 and an Adelaide ticket at $32 on top of that.  (Yes, prawn-zone prices, where else is there to sit?)
