And very fitting for Ricki. I think I still have the 45 somewhere with the original version of that

Not wanting to be a kill joy, but we do need to bear in mind our 3 away wins have come against bottom, second bottom and 4th bottom. Still some tough away games to come.

These have been exactly my thoughts as I saw "form tables" being posted showing the table of results for the last 5 games.

Doesn't worry me so much that they were the bottom teams - have to start breaking the voodoo somewhere and that's a good place to start and get some confidence - but it's a VERY long road home and ANTHING could still happen.

Still happy though!! COYN!

True, but at present we don't have that many opportunities to beat sides that are above us in table. (Something we don't get to say very often)

Let's meet again on the 19th of Feb and review these posts.

I'm slightly disappointed!

And considering only CCM is the only team above us at the moment, we have only played them once this season!

I think it is a fair point that we've beaten teams currently 7th, 9th and 10th on the ladder on the road, but the fact of the matter is that we've shown a lot of character in those matches AND come away with the results. As recently as a few weeks ago we were bemoaning our inability to get anything in Australia. Apart from a awful 20 minutes against the Tards, we've actually done alright in Australia this season. Road form is also a problem across the A-League.

^^ All good points. From next weekend "rubber meets the road-trip" time for all the Nix games. Some serious opposition playing here, and Nix with serious opposition away...who will cope best on the road then?

Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

I have always said the Travel factor is HUGELY underestimated. Our great home record is not pourely because we suddenly grow an extra leg at the R.o.F, teams struggle equally coming this way accross the Tasman

2nd on points, 2nd on wins, so very nearly 2nd on goals scored. Its good being a Nix supporter right now

It's not like there's a big gap in quality between the bottom-placed teams and the top anyway.
I like tautologies because I like them.

Perth last week were outplayed for a good stretch by Adelaide, and won by a canter, through some luck and Djite being crap.

I am sure they weren't complaining afterwards Adelaide were second from the bottom.

Negative bunch

1. I'm extremely happy at the current winning streak, especially the ability to win away from home which was a massive psychological achievement more than anything.

2. At the same time I'm cautious that the teams we have beaten have recently not been particularly great in their form themselves.

3. Yes Adelaide were unlucky (through their own incompetence really) against Perth.

4. Adelaide could so easily have beaten us last night - we will never find out but had we gone 0-2 down I don't know if they would have been able to pull it back.

5. I'm fearful of the remaining draw for the Nix.

Personally I don't see myself as being negative. I'm realistic about the quality of the recent teams we've played, and terrified at the road home, but at the same time I'm on a huge high and enjoying the ride while it lasts.

If the pre and post match interviews with our guys are anything to go by the team is extremely focused and determined not to get carried away at suggestions they are a shoo-in for a top 4 place.

Personally I like this attitude. I don't think we should be fearful about failure but rather have the expectation that we can continue to improve and go all the way. My only concern is that we don't peak too soon. Be nice to hit the finals with plenty of gas in the tank.

There is still plenty of room for improvement. Our defence still shows some trouble at times, and our finishing has still been a little average (though I hope last night is a sign our guys are finding their range again). Agree that the attitude is very much feet on the ground, one game at a time. At the same time the confidence of recent wins definitely is a great thing.

Another vaguely interesting stat: in the 9 games where the Nix have scored first they have won 8 and drawn one. Excellent conversion rate there, compared to Tardistan for instance.

In the 11 games where the opposition have scored first we have managed 2 draws and two wins (2 at home and 2 away).

So bring it on Brisbane ya pussies.

Just pointing out, you can look at most games of football, and come to that conclusion. Surely it is more about how well you have played as a team. And we have been playing well, and well worth the good form results wise that we have been showing.

Allegedly

Heart and "victory" drew 0-0 so that's a good result.   On a more positive note, the Heart coul easily have beaten CCM in that match a couple of weeks ago and the Heart drew with Brisbane.  CCM are looking a bit shaky, if we beat them twice, the Nix will make up 6 of the 7 points we trail by ... that last home game could be really big. true- perhaps - imagine playing for the league title in that last game of the season

especially considering our off-season, this is hugely buzzy thought!!

That would be incredible! Great foresight by the FFA fixture planner if it is the cast. I will be happy if it is a dead rubber though, with CCM and us secured in 1st and 2nd positions respectively. Could be very interesting if we need to beat them to jump the Roar into second.

So excited.
