Would be feeling much happier if GCU could sneak the upset tomorrow. So very tight between 2nd and 4th.

Doubt that is going to happen.

Would love to see it happen, but I really doubt it. Perth beat them when they weren't in form.

Next week against Brisbane is huge for us.WPFC12012-02-05 21:23:20

It thinks Jets will take points of our opposition

Edit: Also rates us a good chance against Sydney now. As do I.

I would be targeting 4 points from that away trip, a draw against CCM and a win against Sydney.

Also, I have noticed that both the trip to CCM/Sydney and Melbourne will result in minimal travel between the games. I'm assuming they team will stay in Sydney and then stay in Melbourne, which could be a huge bonus our 4 remaining away games.

I had two games recorded, the Melbourne Darby or the Sydney/Newcastle game. I only had time to watch one. I chose the Melbourne one...

Have they announced when the game will be played? Feb 22nd was mentioned, but I have not seen it confirmed.

What's the rationale behind this "predict" table of SiNZ?

What you talkin' 'bout Willis?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

It's a mathematical algorithm that I developed to give the spreadsheets a bit of fun. It uses a weighting of current form (most recent weighted most), which is then weighted against previous meetings between clubs (again, most recent weighted most) with current form given the most weighting if those two factors. There's a further weighting for home advantage. This produces a score that is indexed against a score distribution. The distribution is a weighted result of current season in-progress and prior seasons, with the weighting shifting as the season progresses. And the result is predicted scores. All objectively calculated, no subjective inputs (unless in a league with promotion/relegation there are no meetings between the two teams for more than 5 years, in which case I give it an educated base to use).

It's not mathematical unless you have "n, where n is a large number"

(this could be n = the number of times the Tards choke)

Hmm,not sure you guys are quite across the whole 'choke' concept, so lemme break it down for ya.

Choking is when you're good enough to win, but you lose.

We've been terrible this season, therefore no choke.

Just not good enough.

You guys, however, ARE good enough.

Good luck.

Still sh*tting bricks every time I look at the Ladder!

We're still about 5 weeks from being able to really bask in the glory that is the A-League Finals.

Sure wish it was Round 27 already!

This depends on what "good enough" is. Surely the MV club it self deems their team good enough to win every match they play (what with all the money they have spent and having the best player in australian football history on their books). So for me MV's whole season has been one long, loud, dramatic, (yet hilariously funny) choke.

Or is 'joke' a better word?

Fuck this stupid game

Nah, jokes are funny (like 'Melbourne Draw!!111! LOLZ!!!)

The club may deem themselves to be  whatever they want, the facts speak for themselves. We're shizzle, fo rizzle.

And when did we sign Viduka?

I know this is slightly off topic but seeing we are discussing MV I was wondering why some teams get written off as as probable wooden spooners i.e the Nix and other teams loaded with stars underperform i.e MV. Rickie has always been against the "buy a star" method of recruitment. Yet he has taken a team of solid players and with sound tactics and a great team spirit has got them into second place in the league.

Maybe the "rent a star" syndrome has a negative impact on a team. Maybe Kewell, who is an outstanding player is actually inhibiting the rest of the team. His "star quality" actually prevents the team from playing as a unit.

A recently published study of 1600 pro USA baseball players and their team performances showed that the teams that had were the most equal in terms of player incomes performed the best over a nine year study period.

So, Sydney and Melbourne to take the" whole team of stars approach" next season then Zinidane? That'll fix it, why stop at one star?
Skirt the salary cap rules ..after all its for the greater good of Aussie Football ..(soon to be owned by FootballStars Inc- you can like us on bookface )

just kidding...

Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

Getting back on topic is anyone slightly alarmed by Perth's form and position? I want second place and they have a game in hand and a pretty easy run home in comparison to us. Its going to take a real continuation of our away form to take this out.

To be honest, I don't mind if Bling FC make the play offs. They haven't been trumpeting like tards have. They have largely kept all their stuff low key.
