Actually we can't fall off the top regardless. We drop the Glory loss from the last 5 so the worst case scenario is we stay at 12. Roar can only go to 10 max and Adelaide and GCU are nowhere so...

Interesting thing to note about the table, teams are starting to become mathematically impossible to be top. GCU cannot come first anymore, and CCM cannot come last. I expect more of this to happen over the next couple of rounds.

I was wondering about this. It looks like the spreadsheet simply looks at the max points a team can get vs what others already have, but in reality someone has to get points from every game. I think that point was reached a week or so ago. To calculate possible finishing places would require running every possible result from each remaining game and looking at best and worst scenarios.

Hmmm. I'm not sure. Maybe SiNZ can shed some light on it.

GCU are done and Adelaide on the brink. In many ways Adelaide will be looking towards their ACL campaign.

Far too early to come up permutations - for us it's about continue to get results, starting against Brisbane. I will say whoever wins will put themselves in the box seat to seal a top-2 finish.

They have a play off next Thursday now. Lose it and they will be playing the AFC Cup, what isn't worth the effort by the sounds of it.

we must win tomorrow  today.  It's getting pretty claustraphobic.  Jets 5 points behind, sydney, and heart only 2 wins away from us.  we cannot afford to drop points.  It's game day so COYN!!!

Edit - fixed for Boro4Eva, chur

A little cliched perhaps, but you may as a well put a fork in Adelaide too, their defense is too porous - they are going nowhere-  and so perhaps soon even the Tards, and maybe then the Tards-B - both going backwards at a rate of knots.  No-Fans U were dog tucker a month ago.

If the Nix win today, it will be a huge step indeed.

I think there will be a lot of goals scored today 5-3, or 5-4!

Also, a lot of scoring in the crowd - given the promotion

5pm KO feels so far away stilll....

Masters Grade aint no run in the park on a Saturday...

After 21 games...

07/08 - DLLWDWLLLLWLDDLWDWLLL - 20 pts (21 games)
08/09 - DLLDLWDWLLWWWLDWLWLDL - 26 pts (21 games)
09/10 - LWDLDDDDDDWLWDWLDLDWW - 28 pts - WLLWWW - 40 pts (27 games)
10/11 - DWLLWDLWLDLLWLLWDLWLW - 25 pts - DWLWLWWLW - 41 pts (30 games)
11/12 - DWLLLDDWLWWLWLWLWWWWL - 33 pts

Chin up lads. Still having our best season ever.

By the way, in 07/08 33 pts would have got us 3rd place only one point behind the Mariners and Jets tied on 34 pts. So if we had drawn or won yesterday we would have retrospectively won the 07/08 minor premiership! (on goal difference in the case of a draw).

In 08/09 33 pts would have got us 4th place, 5 pts behind Victory and Adelaide tied on 38 pts.

We've lost at home 4 times this season, same as in Season 1.  It should not happen.  12 points dropped right there. Imagine where we would be if we had those points.  The fortress is being breached too regularly for me.

Losing to the Roar and CCM can be forgiven, as they are the two best teams in the league. But losing to the Victory and Perth is inexcusable.

We're still doing awesome in my books, Roar are all class, hope they dominate the ACL. Azevo2012-02-13 12:34:51

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Considering most of us were picking a finish in the bottom half of the table, any place in the top 4 is an awesome achievement.

Aim for 4th, anything above is a bonus.

Since Grandadi is experiencing severe tentacle shrinkage and not putting his fishballs on the line I will make a bold statement of wishdiction:

We will finish 4th and will win our play-offs (4th vs 5th and winner of 3rd vs 6th).  The we will go over to Bluetongue or wherever and will win because Ahmad, BWTCF, Chelski Liz and others will have covered the stadium in banners and yellow army flags.

2B will be drunk in some airport terminal however and will miss the game.

rd or 4th are still very achievable, and given the preseason we had either would be mint, we were targetting 6th and are currently achieving a home semi - sure be grumpy about a loss but be pleased the season is tracking very well at the tight time.
