still in 7th by a whisker.  I don't mean to spout doom and gloom but we are playing the leaders at home who we haven't beaten in a bloody long time.  We need something to change and quickly.

We only need to change the result, leave everything else alone!

Last season, we only scored 9 goals away from home. So far this season we have already scored 9. Last season we conceded 16 total, we have given up 11 so far.

Tx I'm a fan of your 'best ever start to the season' stat you bring up every single week but I'm beginning to realise that it is very misleading! If this is almost our best ever start to the season then that just makes me depressed about how consistently rubbish we've always been.

Permalink Permalink

not constantly rubbish, we ar enotoriously slow starters, we always finish the season stron, after christmas the results wioll turn and we'll be in the mix again - it's just how we do things.

Yeah, pretty much.

The fact that there's only 4 points difference between our best and worst starts to the season after 11 games says something doesn't it? Especially when you consider there have been up to 33 points on offer.

I've noticed we've hardly scored any goals at home.  In fact there has only been two shirts off at 80 mins this season.

5 at home & 9 away, Never thought that would happen. If we could swap them around we would be flying high. We have only conceded 4 at home, but lost twice.

After 12 games...

07/08 - DLLWDWLLLLWL - 11pts - DDLWDWLLL - 20 pts (21 games)

08/09 - DLLDLWDWLLWW - 15 pts - WLDWLWLDL - 26 pts (21 games)

11/12 - DWLLLDDWLWWL - 15 pts - WLWLWWWWLLWWDLL - 40 pts (27 games)

12/13 - WDDLLLWDWLLD - 13 pts

Woo hoo! Equal second best start to the season ever!!

OK, so you could throw a blanket over all of our season starts at this point.

There's two ways of looking at this:

1. We are shit. We have always been shit and we keep being shit (if you are a pessimist this is the point of view that will no doubt appeal to you. That's cool. Now why don't you also go and tell a 4 year old there's no Santa you miserable fuck).

2. The last three seasons we have easily made the play-offs from this position, so no worries bro (if you are an optimist you will be nodding your head at the moment while you also re-check last week's Lotto numbers. For the third time. Just in case).

Note that in previous seasons it is about now that we have started to pick up the pace a liitle bit.
