League Table 2012/13 - The Pathetic Thread

I thought a table went in order of a) points b)goal difference c) goals for d)alphabetical order

relevant bit:
If two (2) or more teams are level on points accumulated, the following criteria shall be
applied, in order, until one (1) of the teams can be determined as the higher ranked:
a) highest goal difference;
b) highest number of goals scored;
c) highest number of points accumulated in matches between the teams concerned;
d) highest goal difference in matches between the teams concerned;
e) lowest number of red cards accumulated;
f) lowest number of yellow cards accumulated;
g) toss of a coin.

so we're top of the table by just one yellow card away from a toss of a coin ......  but I'll take that any day .....!

I imagine the A-league would be named for more than just Australia.
Welcome to the A-league - home of AAMelbourne Victory and AAAMelbourne Heart etc...

I am so glad that the future of NZ is in your generation's hands!

IIRC that was how Y2K was dealt with as well.

The young folks of today think Y2K is a zipper malfunction...

But Wellington is where the Beautiful game goes to die.

I thought Auckland was responsible for that!

Not only that, he fixed my microwave!!
However I prefer to view it as you "imperti-ing" the lumen to Patrick who "accipe-ed" it.
(I wish I had taken Latin for longer at school - one of you college boys can do it properly - when you aren't talking about your Chelski or Man City teams)

That sounds sooo much more complicated and looks sooooo much cooler than the slap-dash job I did. Kudos.

I also really like that we are the top of the table!! *biggest emoticon smile ever*

Afterthought: Do you reckon of you kept all the excel files you can also make recent form tables of the last 5 matches and things like that? Would be way cool.

I might be keen to take over. It would be much easier with one of your spreadsheet SiNZ :P. Is there any way I can edit your one from last season to make it work for this season?

Although DataCo shut my site down, I did one for the A-League for my own use. Basically the same as last year's. If you PM my an email address, I'll forward a copy.

LOL. No league uses alphabetical order. If they did, each team would name themselves aaaaaaaaaaa-team name! Be worse than the plumber section of the Yellow Pages!

There's no PM's on this forum, can you forward it to me at patrick478@gmail.com? Cheers.

Yes. The official website didn't adjust their table fast enough, and I failed at my maths when I did it manually. This is hard!

Actually it is being more of a realist. No point saying we will win this and be top. when in fact it is going to be a struggle given the circumstances. Lets hope we dick then.
