This whole past season points thing is irrelative. Doesn't take into account other teams points/position/form. Rather pointless. A+ for effort.

It's not irrelevant (i think that's what you meant to type) at all. Yes, it doesn't take the other teams into account, but it gives a nice idea of how we are going compared to our previous seasons. We all know that we aren't guaranteed to finish fourth if we score the same number of points as last year.

Fuckin predictive text!

I'm just saying, take it with a grain of salt.

Indeed, have a look at the past seasons tables I posted, I think those are a bit more to your liking.

May as well lock this thread. It's pathetic, and so is everyone who has ever posted in it.

Allegedly

That'll do for now.

Adelaide could lose their 2nd placing on the table after this round if Victory and WSW win.

Fourth would be more reflective of how they've been all season imo. Gammy wins galore despite playing average football.

Especially the 2 against us.

Yeah 2nd on th table with a -6 goal difference is pretty classic! Not sure if I've seen that before.

10 low scoring wins and a good spanking does that to u.

Anyone have any handy analysis like 'xx points usually gets you into the play-offs'?

I'm still pissed off about geronimo-gate in round 4

Get something from that game like we deserved and I think the path of our season would've been very different. Instead we got ripped off, distracted all week with diving discussion and changes in the backline, schooled by Melbourne the following week, and things just haven't gone our way since (aside from perhaps Newcastle away).

We would've been unbeaten in 4 if we'd got something, in a half decent position on the table and building confidence. Perhaps enough confidence to avoid defeat in melbourne to come home and take CCM by the horns in Round 6.

I know what-ifs are usually stupid but I really think that was the big bit of damage to our aspirations for this season.

Would of, should of, could of. Who gives a shit. Look at the table and reality hits you.

Surprised some of the good posters have stuck around here. The 'debate' has really gone downhill.

Ahhh yes, the banter I know and love!

J82, a funny music video and some political commentary please

TX, something logical and smart that I'll likely agree with thanks

JD, something extremely negative but annoyingly well reasoned sir

HN, something very funny about your weight (or recent lack of it seems) as well as a pop at either Jacob Burns or Joel Griffiths

And Frankie Mac, something straight from the gutter involving gambling, eating, drinking, or more likely all three

Then all will be right with the world

Its been a while...

. but its obvious to me the blame for this debacle must lie at LPF1's feet, fair and square.

Victory and WSW take 2nd and 3rd spot.  Quite a gap between 4th and the rest,

We must win tomorrow.

You still haven't seen it, I had made a mistake and accidentally deducted 10 goals from the GF tally. Corrected in latest table though.

Even if we manage to beat Jets today, we're still farking last cause of our shit goal difference.

Brisbane win doesn't hurt us too much because it's such a clusterfuck at the bottom anyway. The Heart losing was the big one for us. If we win today we will still be last but also within 2 pts of 5th! This season isn't over yet.

GD only comes into play if you end up tied with some one. So no matter how bad it is, it is only worth 1/2 a point. I'm fine if it turns out that we miss out of the top 6 only because of GD, that would mean we started winning games.

And 5th would get to play adelaide right now, who I really don't rate. Any team heading to hindmarsh for a play-off would fancy themselves I think.

I'm pretty sure that they have only lost one game at home this season.

Every A-League season 36pts has been enough to make the Top 6.
12 wins out of 27 games. We're sitting on 16pts with 10 games to play. Hmmm.
