League Table 2012/13 - The Pathetic Thread

After 18 games...

07/08 - DLLWDWLLLLWLDDLWDW - 20pts - LLL - 20 pts (21 games)

08/09 - DLLDLWDWLLWWWLDWLW - 25 pts - LDL - 26 pts (21 games)

09/10 - LWDLDDDDDDWLWDWLDL - 21 pts - DWWWLLWWW - 40 pts (27 games)

10/11 - DWLLWDLWLDLLWLLWDL - 19pts - WLWDWLWLWWLW - 41 pts (30 games)

11/12 - DWLLLDDWLWWLWLWLWW - 27pts - WWLLWWDLL - 40 pts (27 games)

12/13 - WDDLLLWDWLLDWLLLLD - 17 pts

Sheesh, this is just getting ugly now. Worst season ever.

Still, thanks to the considerable ineptitude of the other teams sharing the bottom of the table with us, we remain only 4 pts outside the playoffs.

Table as it looks right now makes a pretty strong case for a top 4 finals system instead of a top 6 imo. Nevertheless, stoked that the phoenix are still in the mix.

After 19 games...

07/08 - DLLWDWLLLLWLDDLWDWL - 20pts - LL - 20 pts (21 games)

08/09 - DLLDLWDWLLWWWLDWLWL - 25 pts - DL - 26 pts (21 games)

09/10 - LWDLDDDDDDWLWDWLDLD - 22 pts - WWWLLWWW - 40 pts (27 games)

10/11 - DWLLWDLWLDLLWLLWDLW - 22pts - LWDWLWLWWLW - 41 pts (30 games)

11/12 - DWLLLDDWLWWLWLWLWWW - 30pts - WLLWWDLL - 40 pts (27 games)

12/13 - WDDLLLWDWLLDWLLLLDW - 20 pts

Wey-hey! We have clawed our way back to only the equal worst season ever! Yeah, in your face history!

So, from here our 09/10 season finish (8 games, 18 pts) would get us up to 38 pts, which would probably be good enough for the play-offs.

Our 11/12 season finish (8 games, 10 pts) would get us to 30 pts, which would probably not be good enough for the play-offs.

I reckon 3 wins out of the last 8 = not good enough. 4/8 = too close to call. 5/8 = should be OK.

Can we blame The Fox for the fact that CCM have only played 18 games?!

I suspect yes. They sell alcohol, alcohol causes hangovers, hangovers cause simple errors.

Allegedly

God damn The Fox. Bloody alcohol, music, football on the tv, HN dancing, loud Glory fans, yellow bloody shirts everywhere. Might have to go back next year and see if it's improved

They both may struggle to get many points in that last month. And of Sydney's games against the lower teams, 3 are away.

I would say Jets probably have the best, 3 home games against people competing for 5th & 6th.

Roar's schedule looks good for them but could be adversely affected by their ACL campaign. They play in Thailand midweek before we play them. If they win that play off, they get midweek games before Adelaide (in Japan), CCM (at home).

As have so many teams been for much of the season so far. Yet the experts tell us the standard of football is going ahead in leaps and bounds.

Permalink Permalink

I think the standard this year is on par with last year, if not slightly worse. Yes, there are a few teams that are playing nice football up the top of the league, but most of the teams outside the top four are not that crash hot. The standard of this season pisses all over the standard of a few years ago though.

That is interesting cause HN reckons we are the best team in the league based on that first half.  lol

Was commenting about the draw, rather than the team. But yes, the Jets are rubbish and probably won't make it.

After 20 games...

07/08 - DLLWDWLLLLWLDDLWDWLL - 20pts - L - 20 pts (21 games)

08/09 - DLLDLWDWLLWWWLDWLWLD - 26 pts - L - 26 pts (21 games)

09/10 - LWDLDDDDDDWLWDWLDLDW - 25 pts - WWLLWWW - 40 pts (27 games)

10/11 - DWLLWDLWLDLLWLLWDLWL - 22pts - WDWLWLWWLW - 41 pts (30 games)

11/12 - DWLLLDDWLWWLWLWLWWWW - 33pts - LLWWDLL - 40 pts (27 games)

12/13 - WDDLLLWDWLLDWLLLLDWL - 20 pts

Only a sense of morbid fascination keeps me doing this now. Still the equal worst season ever. However, it is interesting that we are still not that far off 09/10 although it was from here that we absolutely flew home. And look at how well we were going at this point last season before dropping off a bit.

I only do it because I would feel bad if I stopped making the tables now. We need Nik to write something to post the tables automatically.
