Too early for the spoon Patrick, we still have to play Perth. Grrrrrrrrrrivals may steal our spoon!

anyone who wants to get that spoon off us will have to play really poorly .....

Worst GD last year was Adelaide on -18. All time worst goes to NQF in 10/11 and the Knights in 05/06, both on -32. Would take a super effort to get lower than that.

I don't think we will quite make it sadly. Heart at 'home' will probably be -1, West Sydney away we will be violated (-4), Perth away will be -1 and Victory at home a draw. I put us on -24 come season end.

On the contrary, I think Ive just had enough after that tonight. Did the Jets goalie actually have to make a save (apart from our goal?)

He stopped a Corey shot that  led to Brockies goal with his face. He also chucked one or two jumping up and down, pounding the ground with his fists Tantrums.

Current bottom 3 are 3 of last season's top 4.

Not many leagues in the world where that can happen.

Glory beats Sydney and pretty sure guarantees us the wooden spoon.

I've just run a few scenarios on the finals predictor and it doesn't take too much imagination to come up with a playoff threshold of 30 points. Meaning two wins and a draw would get us through. Three wins, while highly unlikely, would quite possibly get us through.

The commentators and the media have been saying the Phoenix are categorically out of playoffs contention, but who made that decision? Not Greenacre.

Find it interesting looking at the Home and Away tables here - http://www.ultimatealeague.com/standings.php

Wanderers only have the 5th best Home record, but are absolutely fantastic with their Away record.

We've got a better chance of gifting the spoon to Heart. They have Adelaide and WSW at home (they could be looking at just one point from those two games), and then two away games to finish the season. Would leave us just needing two wins, or a massive, massive win and a draw and we will offload the spoon.

Sydney FC also have to play the top three teams in the league still, and then finish the season against Roar, so the could possible get no more points, meaning we just need a good win and we'll go ahead of them (four losses will hurt their GD).

And if things really do go our way, we can still finish 5th.

Perth beating Jets was a better result for us. What we want is for all the other teams to group together around the 30 point mark.

Jets can't have more wins than losses now.  yet they can still make the play offs.  We have 9 points available, would love to get them all too.

Realistically, we are winning the spoon. Doesn't mean we can't keep our small glimmer of hope alive.

But the problem is that when that does not happen you are bitterly disappointed. Far better not to have such high expectations, especially when we really don't deserve it.
