Yep, we haven't won against Victory in Melb. It's been painful 90% of the times I've gone. The closest I remember us coming was when Lia (!) scored from outside the box and we drew. This is the first Nix v Victory game in Melb I won't be able to go to; so we will definitely win.

Think we possibly had another 1-1 draw too but I can't remember it.

In 2009, Carlos Hernandez free kick and Tim Brown header from a fantastic (right footed) Daniel cross. Marco made his debut, as did the Rojas in the middle of our street chant and home and away (both courtesy of Coops I think).

That Daniel cross probably crossed the endline though.

Endline? It's called a byline, or a goal line.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

Have a thanks Tegal, came on this thread to see where we are at after tonight and where we'd be if we win tomorrow. Saved me a job.

Potentially quite a gap developing between the two halves of the table. Quite an unusual table for the a league.

This is probably the more pertinent point. It allows us to be in that what-looks-like breakaway group vs being midtable or lower where we have been accustomed to sitting for the majority of our HAL lives.

It would be nice to be up there because then teams start to look at us with a bit more fear. By comparison, does anyone look at Mariners, Roar and WSW with any fear right now? That's last years top 3!

Roar will get better, too much quality to be that bad for very long. Wonder how far Sarota is away from being fit. Now the ACL is over, WSW will be much better & have 2 catch up games. CCM is just poor, they have lost too much quality and haven't replaced it.

Brisbane and WSW will both at least make top 6 you would have to think. Both teams have enough quality. WSW will be done over if they have injuries. The impressive thing about their squad in their first two seasons was the amount of depth they had. We have seen already this season how bad they can be if a couple of key players aren't there. You would think Brisbane would improve as well given they still have Broich.

Totally right. We need to stay in touch with the top half, or we'll be in danger of getting quickly overtaken by those coming through.

Based on the first few rounds I think that we can wave goodbye to victory, adelaide and Sydney. And once they start concentrating on the a league I think we can add wsw to that list as well.
On the other side of the ledger I don't rate ccm or the jets at all and think they're gong to have a very long season.
Which leaves us fighting it out for 5th or 6th with Brisbane, Perth and M City. Perth have started well and the other two have too much class in their squads to be terrible for too long. I think we can beat off city but fear that we'll end up 7th.

We can beat off city? That game better not be picked for family day
