Early doors as they say in UK-speak. Maybe just a flash in the pan. Watch Accies drop. Perf just as easily.

NB 2 of their next 3 games are v the two clubs DESPERATE for points - WSW and Roar. With us in the middle. So it'll be a good indication of where they're at after these three.

Btw enjoy yr trip. Envious.

But you could just as easily say that it's more significant that they are already top and have yet to play the two last-placed sides

Perth - Nix (W) Roar (W) Adelaide (L) Jets (W) CCM (W)

Victory - WSW (W) Adelaide (D) City (W) Phoenix (W) Jets (D)

Sydney - City (D) WSW (W) Roar (W) CCM (W) Adelaide (D)

Adelaide - Roar (W) Victory (D) Glory (W) City (W) Sydney (D)

Glory have had a pretty easy start so far. Once they face Sydney/Victory they will probably drop points. They are much better this season but still not able to compete against Sydney/Adelaide/Victory imo.

If we had beaten Perth in that first game then they are only 5th and not looking so good. I still think Brisbane and WSW are going to improve and push for the top 6 so us and Perth need all the points we can right now.

another 2 Adelaide's join the league and we are out of the top 6.  When you think about that, it makes you wonder if the start to the season actually been that good?

But then if we win at Hindmarsh we'll shoot to the top...  a six pointer!

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Let's face it - setting up a second Adelaide team was just a stupid idea from the FFA.

I remember the old West Adelaide Hellas - they had some awesome derbies against Adelaide City, who were a club to beat in the NSL.

Sergio Melta was one of the best players in those days. Sometimes I think Adelaide would be better off with both teams in HAL.

(but the old West Adelaide ground was crap)

Start of a run of 4 very winnable games. Perth, City, Jets, Mariners. Probably need 10 points to solidify a top 6 spot.

Perth at home are tough, especially for us. The sheer good luck of a shorter time zone change this time for the Nix may be just what we need to put in a credible performance against them, especially if our guys did not pick up any injuries of note. Hope Burns recovers from that corked thigh.

We have to close the gap.

I'm not worried about closing the gap with the top four, I'm more worried about getting some space away from those chasing us.

Kinda puts in perspective; last two weeks have been poor, but we're still on track.

No draws!

Just because we have started poorly in the past doesn't mean this is a good start. For me we have had a poor start to the season given our fixtures. I'm not trying to be overly negative but if we had any less than 9 points then I think there would be some serious consternation.

We've played two of the top teams - Adelaide and Victory - away from home. I agree we should've beat Perth once out of the two times we played them, but apart from that I think we've had expected results. Would look even better if we hung on against ADL, of course.

Better by design
