Away v Perth 17 Feb

Away v Mariners 23 Feb

4 wins and a draw, 13points, please.

I'd take 11 at a pinch.

What? We don't get 5 points for a win. We'd be 7th on goal difference if we win 3-0, but we'll be back down because Brisbane, Central Coast and Perth all play after us.

It’s what happens when teams have played a different number of games, fans get confused. The FFA were right after all.

Oh dear..

I still stand by my statement that the others still have to play so we may still not stay in 7th.........

I think it has (apart from us losing of course!), if we want to make the playoffs. We're still only 5 points off 6th with a game in hand. We haven't fallen further behind 6th spot from the beginning of the round.

All very well, but it is who we still have to play that might be the problem.

Absolutely. Just pointing out that we're pretty much in the same situation we were at the beginning of the round.

Yep - its those games like the Adelaide one we should be winning if we're going to get out of this. I went along and thought we'd made progress and we were going to do well but it felt like we were back in the pattern that dominated the first half of the season - playing well and making chances but just not scoring. Lets face it - we lost to a goal that was against the run of play really and they didn't really make any other chances. We on the other hand made 3-4 that were real close shaves but just didn't go in. Neither team came out of that game looking good I'm afraid - our 'passes to them'  were a bit too often really - broke down what were otherwise building as good moves. Also lack of a plan with crosses (it seemed to me) with more than a few falling into wide open spaces at the far post with none of our guys even close..... The best thing I think was seeing Singh get a run - he looked pretty good to me.

I still have faith but the number of games we've realistically got to turn it round are dwindling. That said, if we did sneak into the 6 we'd be a team many would want to avoid.....sure we've had a lot of off days - but still come agonisingly close with most other teams - rarely been dominated in my opinion. It seems to me that being last on points in this league by no means makes you worst - it seems to come down to how it pans out on the day in most cases (i.e. injuries, referees, luck with the bounce, and having the football gods onside).

Maaaate your dreaming.  Of course we are worse off. If we had of won it would of closed the gap. That was a must win game given we have the Smurfs this week with chance if points being minimal

I saw a game with a depleted team that only lost because of a howler but was otherwise on top.

We weren’t as good going forward as we have been in previous weeks. But I agree, it’s nowhere near as bad as people are making out.
