Back page of the DomPOst says the sponsor is Sony.

  Nice work, if it's true.

That would sum it all up, the Knights main sponsor was a local sandwich shop and the 'Nix get a multi-national electronics company!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

And here was me thinking we had solved our defensive problems by signing Anton Ferdinand on bail.

Oh well. Sony it is. Electrifying!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was just one of those little paragraphs in the round-up on the back of the sports pullout.  Didn't have any details except to say that the 'Nix had called a press conference next week and that it will be to announce that Sony are the new sponsor.

so this is why there are no new tops in stores at the moment, they are waiting for the announcment and then start selling the strips with the new sponsor on it??

Whats the point in a press conference now when they have said it in the bloody paper!

Yeah, no Phoenix in the paper at all except for that little tit bit, not a great start for Mr Millmow (although great article with Jake Gleeson)

not a great day for the Dom in terms of coverage (as in Marius L's topic) and relationship with the Phoenix

Yeah that must have been deliberate.. maybe Phoenix's PR got offside with him? That or he was a poor choice for the sport's editor role :)

I think it's because the game is tomorrow so they'll have the big coverage in tomorrow's paper.  AIG would have been a better sponsor (together with changing the team strip to red).

This post displays an utter disregard for the feelings and senstivities of many, MANY, other forum members...
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

On another note - not sure where to put this so moderate away if necessary .. Terry Serepisos won Wellingtonian of the Year under the sports section and deservedly so :)

And FOTC deserve kudos too..

Yeah right. Having one Manure in this world is more than enough. I'd rather watch Colchester, Ipswich, Norwich or Burnley before I ever went near Old Crapford!

But I digress. If it really is Sony, that would be cool. I watch the away games on my 42" Sony Plasma! Global brand of the highest quality!

I just dont understand Jonathan  (new sports editor) Millmow.

Assuming he's right that its SONY , why we he steal the clubs thunder and announce it in the Dominion Post? Is that the sort of "scoop' that is going to sell papers? Hardly, cos the announcement was well buried away in a minor column.

So why would he risk upsetting and alienating the Phoenix managment? if I were them, I would now seriously think twice about involving him in anything that might give him privileged information.

I think hes been very dumb.

Agreed Browner, it certainly seems a bit daft, I doubt they would have done that to the Wellington Lie-ins (a team with lower fan numbers this season)

The whole tone of the wee piece was patronising and no coverage of the game coming up!!

A poor effort, I've emailed them because I emailed them in the early days when they gave us good coverage and I certainly don't expect the rubbish we got today, hopefully they'll get their act together in tomorrow's edition!!

Yeah . I thumbed thru the paper looking for something on the Phoenix, and found nothing except a story of a lanky kid goalie who went to England with no success, but he did speak to Alex Ferguson.

On another note I see that Ruud Gullit should be here with the LA Galaxy. Now that guy is/was a star, and if were playing maybe Id be going to see the Galaxy match. David Beckham is not in his league Im afraid.

Yeah, Right! Be a Manure fan and be a number. I'd rather be a person than just another number. Pop quiz, how many Manure fans have actually been to Old Crapford? Yeah Right again!

I don't know what this reporters agenda is but he certainly needs a lesson on how to win friends. You don't mind some things from the press. But you do want fair non biased but factual reporting - Just like Aussie Cricket Commentators and football commentators!! Yeah, Right!!

Hey Lonnegunman, I'm a Man U fan and have been to see the mighty reds play at the Theatre of Dreams many times and have been to 2 Arsenal matches up there, good times! We can't help it if we're such a big club that all our fans can't come to the games, BUT we still fill our stadium up every game. lol. shabba1212007-11-19 20:26:23

Just curious, how come you decided to support United? Ever think of any teams (Other than the Nix of course)?
