4 points outside the 6 with 12 games to be played. Not sure the doom and gloom is justified, especially considering the quality of the last ~4 performances and the fact that the teams between us and the 6 have either played 1 less game or the same amount.

I'd be disappointed if we didn't make the finals from where we're currently sitting.

Prepare to be disappointed

On a points per game basis the team that's currently sixth is MacArthur on 1.56 ppg, so at their current rate 37 points by the end of the 24 game season.

For us to catch up with that we will have to average 2 PPG for the remainder of our season (i.e. win two in three).

We could still sneak in, but its gonna take a whole lot of other results going our way.

The only team I can see dropping out of the top 6 is Macarthur. They are 5 points ahead of us at present. Makes our next game against them real important. Especially considering we have Melb City after that.
I think we have 12 games (25 games season?) left to play and probably need to get at least 20 odd points from those games to make the top 6.

That is true that Sydney are 4 points away with only one game in hand in sixth, but we have played two more than both Western Utd and Perth who are both 1 point below in the table, so could theoretically jump to 20 points (we’re on 15) each once they get to our 13 games.

Of course I’d still be disappointed to miss the top 6 but I still do think our position is a bit precarious and will require quite a run in to make the 6

Shark, I'm going to be disappointed if we don't make the Grand Final. Like I am every year

Makes it all the tantalizing for when we face Western twice in the space of three game weeks then. Definitely need to target those two for wins, as well as others of course.... Also, just want to keep those snakes and their cobra-esque leader of a mangager in their places.

Put it this way- if we make the six we will be battle hardened and better prepared than any to go into a final series. We make the six, there's no reason why we couldn't have our best ever finals run. But we need to play amazingly well to get into the six, considering the bad luck that has cost us points so far.
A 4-1 win is a good start.

Tayls! What a difference his presence in the back line made. After all, we didn't need the tracksuit to win. We needed Tayls!

Bosnich gives save of the week to Sail for turning the Kamsoba shot round the post. Yet another excellent game from him.

Call me controversial but for me the MoM from that game was actually McGarry.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Tend to agree. I thought he was very, very good. Was a constant threat down the left hand side. Great control and option taking when on the ball, gets an assist and was unlucky to have a rocket of a shot saved behind for a corner.

That said, I thought his defensive effort was impressive too. Never actually realised it before, but he is very quick, he broke up a couple of their attacks in that second half.

Lewis and Sail for mine would be right up there too. Very close call between them. Chuck Davila in there too for a cracker of a goal and for laying off the ball to Hemed for the opener, when he could've probably had a go himself.

Agree about McGarry but Lewis was a bit loose with his passing prior to his nearly goal in the first half, giving it away a number of times, even being picked up by the Fox commentators.

I was thinking Lewis did have some loose touches and wayward passes/giveaways that I didn't allude to. But thought he was still very good overall. Had that shot of his not cannoned back off the bar then it may have been a tighter call.

Come to think of it, we should have pummeled Victree by 6 or 7🤔

He sure picked his game up after Payne gave him a spray for being lazy and conceding a corner. Not MoM for me but he listened and adjusted his intensity.

McGarry's defence is the weakest aspect of his game. If he can improve that, there is no reason why he can't be the best LB in the league in the next couple years.

They got Rufer's hand ball right but complete wrong about Joshy.  I bet we never see the hand ball in the previous game as the probably say something like "we can't let the Nix win this one, I've got money on WSW, NO PEN."
