So have we ever won a finals game, since Newcastle at the RoF 2010?

Yes.

Kind of crazy to think that we've only played two more playoff since that win. Friday will be the third.

Four isn't it? Loss away to Adelaide 2011, home win over Sydney and away loss to Perth 2012, and home loss to City 2015?

The article is about the 3-2 win over Sydney in 2012.

The whole of Australia will be expecting us to be thrashed in this.

It will though be playing on the MV players and staff combined minds that hey have not beaten us this season.  Okay, we have not beaten them either, but in three draws, two if them in Melbourne, we have shown that we can compete at the very least and will have no fear

In a weird way, I also reckon it will help us to be playing there and not here.  This group is together as a unit.  They can do this.

Oh, I must have blanked that game from my memory. I remember it now, I absolutely freaked out.

That loss to City was so disappointing

That loss to City was so disappointing

It was even worse the week before - we had Sydney at home, and before that game kicked off we were 2 home wins away from the grand final. Then we lose that one, end up fourth, and then lose to City. And entered a downward spiral that we're only (maybe) getting out of now.

Would've preferred Adelaide but somehow I can see our boys getting under their skins this game, they drew 3 times with 2 home games and lost to us once in pre-season. Picking Rufer to go beast mode.

Predicting Sheridan to get more than 10 minutes on the park, probably subbing in by 60th minute, once the MV defence tires of chasing Krishna and Burgess.  Picking Sheridan to wear a "No more Mr. Nice Guy" logo under his kit, to show it off when he scores.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Prefer the Victory to be honest. Been close tactical battles all season, and all three games have been right up there in terms of quality, pretty much end to end stuff. Definitely suits our counter attacking set up too as Victory play a very attacking style. I wonder whether they will temper this come Friday...

Adelaide pretty much dominated us all season and I thought for one reason or another we looked very poor tactically against them in all three outings. Just seemed to be something missing everytime we played them, very flat performances at best.

Victory has the potential to hurt us Ola, Kosta and Honda are all quality and have the ability to expose us on the right.

By now I reckon that Victory has better players but Adelaide has a better coach.

no. There will be a team who finished above nix. And if beat victory would play Perth not Sydney.

My Victory supporting friends in Melbourne tell me that it's not a happy place right now. Honda is injured. Thomas hasn't played for a month due to a disagreement with Muscat. Kosta is looking to move to WSW (If his Mrs thinks Wellington was bad she obviously hasn't been to the western suburbs of Sydney) and that this is our best opportunity to cause an upset. COYN!

How many more weeks of recovery does Fenton have? If we made the final would he be near ready? Or no chance at all? I think I would be a lot more optimistic if we had him in the starting line up :(
