That goal is what happens when we get decent numbers forward, the problem is we don't do it enough and it's left to Greenacre on his own.

This is actually a very entertaining game to watch in that we look threatening going forward and when they go forward and try all their tricky sh*t, we seem to be defending it well where as previously, their front three have run circles around us with through balls everywhere

We can really win this if we go for it. All Melbourne do is play straight. Like that chance right there, that is ALL they do, they are crap!

Lets just hope we take the game to them in the 2nd half because we CAN take the 3 points here.

Ha they just showed the replay of Ifill going down with a view we haven't seen yet and he gets the slight push, takes a step clear and goes down. Definitely not a penalty and we would have been livid had that gone against us cause it was soft soft soft

Mr Ifill, we are better than that and don't like cheats doing it to us.

Very good going forward, but we need to be careful with Manny in the back there he could give away a few cards if he doesn't calm down a bit.

Good to see a physical game with few yellow cards so far. Hard but mostly fair tackles.

Phoenix need to change their plans with Greenacre, the man is getting mobbed by 3 defenders, and he's not the biggest bloke around, he needs someone up front with him to split the defenders!

As much as I want Marco to succeed and he has the technical skills, I think he will be too small and too slight to make a difference and will get monstered off the ball. Needs some more upper bulk to ride the physical stuff that will flatten the small, slight lad. (Just being honest)

Only if Moss was not there, we probably be up by a couple of goals.

All stats favours Nix. Shot attempted, shots on target, ball in box, corners, 56% possession. Very good reading. The next goal must be close for us. Can't see why Ifill was allow a penalty as it was clear there was a shove in the back. I think Ifill is scratching his head over the referee standard in A-league.AllWhitebelievr2009-09-13 18:04:35

Ifill's already on record saying how much space Greenacre is making by drawing defenders, so there's more than one way for Greeny to be doin the job.

Half time chatter on Fox Sports (I continue to get the feed while they are on ad breaks) is that Merrick is looking to sub Pondlejak for Kruse before long, we are looking to keep our formation behind Greenacre better and shut down Hernandez's runs down the left a bit better.
