Did Paladin not realize we play in the same league.

I think the aqua/navy combo was lovely, original and based on a really good story. But the navy on its own just doesn't do it. Why not bring back the nod to Woolongong with the red, or as WhoStoleMySock said, black?
The training wear looks nice though.
Playing in black in the Aussie summer? Yeah nah... but navy isn't much better.

Not sure how you get the free name & number atm, it still includes the $25 fee at the checkout for me. Was gonna combine that with the members discount code that was sent out during the week.

So along with a great win yesterday, I thought the Nix charity shirt was awesome. Here are the details to purchase one https://wellingtonphoenixhub.com/products/wellington-phoenix-a-league-mens-replica-charity-jersey-men

Otherwise, if you are after the Match worn ones. I see the 1st auction is up on trade me with Oil Sails shirt first. https://www.trademe.co.nz/3852006735

I'm positive things will go wrong.

Nix gear is at Rebel Sport now.
I may be wrong but I don't think it's been at Rebel since Paladin has been the supplier.

20% off storewide today

Also, the black training shirt looks amazing in person.
If they had chosen that as the away jersey this year it would get my vote as the best ever away jersey.

Let me guess, because we've won 2 in-a-row in the navy, we'll be wearing that for the rest of the season? 🤪

https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/a-league/131018193/why-the-wellington-phoenix-dont-always-wear-their-home-kit-when-they-play-at-home

The explanation from Phoenix general manager David Dome is that the club has two principal partners, Spark and Oppo, who are each guaranteed an even share of the front-of-shirt sponsorship.

Oppo, a mobile phone brand, has its logo on the yellow home kit (and had it on the one-off purple kit), while Spark, the longstanding New Zealand telecommunications company, has its on the blue away kit.

Surely it would make sense to wear the New Zealand company logo on the kit we’re supposed to wear in New Zealand…

so many factors to tke into cnsideration though, not just "we have to show this logo 50% of the time", clashes with opposition factors into it obviously, and I'm sure SPark or Oppo dont care when/where their logo is shown, one a global mobile phone company the other a National Telco that would love the TV coverage.

Considering we copied off of Peñarol in South America for our most recent home kit, I decided to play around with another of Peñarol's previous home designs in the hope that we can return to a black base.

1. I have not seen an all-yellow version of the A Leagues logo yet, so this would be the likely colouring. Much like the Oppo logo.
2. My sharkty design program can't remove backgrounds, so I was forced to stick with the full Nix circle logo, otherwise I would have had the Phoenix in yellow on the black background.

So, don’t we have 50/50 home/away games or close to it? This is a bullshark explaination. What it is, is pure laziness and lack of organisation to get the mix right. If not that, a piss poor piece of sponsorship business by the club management.

It's 50/50 home and 50/50 away init?

Not saying it's not dumb, just saying the explanation makes sense.

it makes perfect sense, we get two lots of cash to be the main sponsor on one of the kits - which probably worked out financially better than just one main sponsor. The trade off is that both sponsors wanted as much home view time as possible so the 50/50 arrangement was made. Dome explained that this was best financial decision they had available, which given Welnix lose tonnes of cash per season you can't really be angry about.

I agree - but I also agree wityh the club doing what it has to to keep the $$ flowing in from sponsors

I just wish the sponsors flicked a few extra bucks on so they could have yellow and black home kits with both sponsors and same for away.

Or paladin help a squad out.  Then you rin the risk of everyone buying the same sponsor on multiple shirts diluting the value I guess.

I dunno, thinking as I type.

It defo sucks but if it's keeping the club afloat it is what it is.

I think it's inevitable, football central have had the away one 25% off for about a month and rebel sport put everything reduced to clear also

It was said Scottish clubs used to do it in the early 2000s, I know Aberdeen did because it came via a 3rd party. Was a weird system which I’m glad we got rid of.

I jumped on it as soon as the email came through! $29 for shipping hurts, but it's definitely fair enough being located here in Australia.
