Phoenix kit - The return of the stripe

I am a big believer that the away kit should have the same template as the home kit.  Just look at the Champions league final, Inters yellow kit, in years to come people will watch excerpts from that game and wonder who the team in yellow was.

As nice as they were on their own, imagine if we'd made or won a final in some of our recent change strips, and we looked back at the footage years later.
it was Inter's third kit, their more traditional white and blue away was used for their only loss in the UCL so players superstitiously chose the third kit.

Inter would probably be quite happy if that happens, given the result.

Apparantly a rendering of the kit was shown to a few people. But come kit release night what was delivered was different from the rendering. To late at that stage to do anything about it.

If true this is ridiculous, how much $ they make from the kits and they don't get some real examples to choose from?
Sums up the season.

Stripes are back

Proper stripes too by the looks of it!

Be aware, this is just a rendering...maybe they hit the render in the final product this time and the sponsor will be 10.07.25

as long as they don't rip off the other Fever kit with hoopies and stay in their stripey lane.

Now the question is will they be able to deliver pre-orders by the 19th?

What dont you understand about that what they were shown is going to be coming wasnt what turned up. Nothing they can do about it that close to season start. Sometimes not everything is the clubs fault. As for if true when management and the kit designer say that i tend to believe them.

I believe it's true, if you say so.
The kit is their branding, it should be exactly how they want it, they don't have even ridiculous requests, it's just a cheap print on some generic fabric not some woven patterns design for them.

Announcing a kit reveal 3 weeks beforehand is insane. Can't be very much happening at Nix HQ

Seems the Phoenix cant do anything right in the eyes of some. Its off season would imagine some are taking a break.

Wohoo, exciting to get the new kit early! Can't wait to see it. Looks like they're going back to their roots. All for going back to stripes and to have it released early is refreshing

Massive clearance, is Paladin locked in for another year? This sale hot on the heels of a another sale a couple of weeks ago, is typical of a merch store looking to clear EVERYTHING for a reason - new supplier.

Dont read to much into it its not the first time they have done it. From memory last season they ran  massive garage sale and people tried to say the same thing your trying to say. Probably more a case of just getting rid of old stock.

It means the new kit is likely for the Wrexham game, and the away kit(s) likely for the Australia Cup games.

Also means that it might be available for Fathers Day.

They did the kits for my Sunday league side (and many other teams playing Better Football) and allow full customisation. I've been very impressed by the quality and durability of just the entry level shirts, let alone what the pros will have, and I expect there won't be any issues with executing the vision.

This and the bold stripes they're hinting at have me looking forward to a kit for the first time in a long time

They seem to do well with the Warriors shirts - which also generally have a raised silicone crest on them, so I'm hopeful that we can either get that raised silicone crest or a stitched one rather than it just being printed into the shirt like it has been with Paladin - it gives it a more premium look and feel when it's not just printed into the material

Maybe last years screw up on the shirts was just too much. I never had an issue with Paladin and actually found them great to deal with they gave me a special deal on the shirts for my "clown suit". They also got me made a stadium coat in a size not advertised.
 Any way long live stripes

I feel like they had a silicone crest, but only on the player issued kits last season.

Just hoping the materials overall will feel great.

From the article:

"The men’s new home kit for the upcoming season has already been designed and produced, and it will be unveiled next Thursday (July 10), three months earlier than usual, in time for this month’s match against Wrexham AFC.

Dynasty will also produce two alternate away kits to ensure the Phoenix will always be in their home colours when they play in Wellington (or Christchurch).

The women’s home strip and the two away kits will be unveiled in September, closer to the start of the new A-League season."

Does that mean the men's and women's kits will be different? Or am I reading too much into the phrasing?

Also, I wonder if having two alternative kits means no special/charity kit, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

There's no silicon on our shirts, but the team logo is printed directly into the pattern of the shirt, so no stick on patches that can peel off either.

I imagine replicas would be similar.

What does this mean? Is it an away kit in home colours? Seems complicated.

Dynasty will also produce two alternate away kits to ensure the Phoenix will always be in their home colours when they play in Wellington (or Christchurch).

Based on what was said back at the Fraser Park members’ day, I’d guess a “dark” home strip for when teams like CCM show up in their “light” away one.

You’re right though, it’ll be interesting to see how they manage that so we don’t end up with a repeat of the Christchurch confusion.

I imagine it will be two very differing colour schemes of away shirts, so that we always wear the yellow home at home and never have to wear our home shirt for away games against other teams where our regular away shirt would clash.

As the sponsor contracts mean we have to wear each shirt a certain amount of times, they can guarantee the away shirt sponsor that they can be front of shirt for every away game rather than having to make up that number of matches the home shirt and home sponsor was worn away by wearing the away sponsor at home games.

Last year the issue in Christchurch with CCM was that the Nix needed to wear the away shirt to get Entelar Group another game as front of shirt sponsor. CCM could've worn their away shirt and we could've worn our home as theirs was blue so there would've been no clash - it was just the sponsorship contracts which dictated it. And because of the rule of only being allowed 3 kits in the A-League (and the Nix had a charity strip counting towards one of those) they couldn't make a "men's version of the women's home" where they put Entelar on the yellow shirt instead.

Anyway that's just my reading of the whole thing and I could be proven wrong!

Expect a light kit (white/yellow) that we would wear away against teams who have a dark kit (Auckland, Victory, Western Utd, Perth, Adelaide, WSW)

And a dark kit (black) that we would wear away against teams who have a light  kit (Melbourne City, Sydney, Newcastle, CCM, Brisbane, Macarthur)

Auckland FC had something similar last year although I only recall them wearing their black kit against Sydney FC, otherwise favouring the white shirt when away).

For the female kit, I'd expect the template to be the same but a different fit and they might vary the away kit colors, perhaps darker shorts.

How does this solve the away kit at home debacle?
So we will still wear the away kit at home sometimes (i.e CHCH) but it will be closer to our home colours?

Think you will find it means we will always play at home including CHCH in our yellow and black kit. Gone are the days of playing at home in an ,"away kit"
There will be two away kits.
Thats what i understood it to mean at the FRG meeting i took part in a couple of weeks ago.

Ahhh got it now. No away game clashes anymore, meaning they won’t have to make up numbers for the other sponsor by wearing the away kit at home. Got it.

Exciting to see a new Kit Provider. Paladin had some good ones, but they were really starting to get stale with the home kits. This most recent one may be the worst we've ever had. The best home kit they did was probably the spiky one.

I had a look at Dynasty's other entries, how their kits generally look (including stitching, logo placement, etc), and what vibe the announcement post was giving.

So then I made this. Something like this would be my prediction for what we're getting.

I like it, almost back to the original black and yellow stripes. Paladin were getting too clever with their stripes. That is bold!

 This could be something different

or something like this for an away kit.

Hopefully we see the Dynasty logo on the shoulder like that! The front can often look cluttered when trying to fit the club logo, ALM logo, kit manufacturer, sponsor and feather motif.

But this render looks clean and gorgeous. Hopefully the real kit is similar!

What's everyone's thoughts?
Despite not being that well known I think dynasty are right up there in terms of quality. Warriors jerseys have been brilliant over the last few seasons.

Only other company I'd rather have making our kit would be maybe Adidas or Nike. Paladin was horrific - quality was doodoo. I've been wearing the old Adidas kit even though I have newer kit which is mostly falling apart since it is made by Paladin
