shop fittings take bugger all time to install, i would be surprised if the shop wasn't open next week. heh, for all we know they might be waiting for the machine that does the numbering/lettering on the shirts to arrive so they can measure it up for the shop . If people are so keen on supporting the club directly, just order it from their website (or does this go straight to the FFA's pockets)

Club Store V1 was completed from scratch within 3 weeks so anything is possible.

You have to think that all the shelving, display units, and the rest of the fittings from the old shop must be ready to just chuck in. A couple of Phoenix murals on the walls and you have a shop.

Have the tops always been only $50 online?

Just had a look and they only have small and extra large... Will it be the same cost to order via phone from the shop?

$50 is dirt cheap. Considering a Warriors jersey is $180.

the new shirts will be $120.

obviously the $50 ones you're talking about are the "old" shirts and they're trying to get rid of them.

Never said otherwise. All I said was try to do so in a civil manner.

Again, never said otherwise. Nor was I complaining. And I'm doing it again now. All I meant was I wouldn't rebut your points one by one in that instance.

No, they don't. No such store is open. They own the premises, but there is no store there. Significant difference.

[quote=paulm]4: This is exactly what i am asking for, dont you see that?
I do now. I read it more as you attacking the organisation than actually asking for answers. If I misread it, then my bad.

6: Where did i do this? Care to enlighten me? i merely mentioned that I would prefer to give more of my money directly to the club rather than an every day sporting business.

Then I misinterpreted you. I read it more as an insistence than a preference (re: "the answer is pretty f*cking obvious"). My bad.

Oh, and CD/HN, thanks for the correction that Malben and Knights have/had store.

I don't think $50 is that good for last seasons top to be honest, particularly as the new one is going to look significantly different.

I dunno how many old tops are still out there for selling but IMO they are never going to shift them at $50-$60.

New tops in the SPL and EPL are only about $100 and when they are out of date they go for as little as $25 or sometimes less in the club shops to get rid of them.

There is another reason for wanting to buy new shirts from the Phoenix store.  If you've got the new Entertainment Book, it has a voucher for $50 off one item at the Phoenix store if you buy another that costs more. By my reckoning this means when I buy my new shirt I can get $50 off my son's one.  But as this only applies to the Phoenix store I for one will have to wait till it opens (which will be a pain if it take ages!).

I live in Akl, so given I can't attend games, last years will be ok. No one in Auckland would know the difference.

Well it helped me decide to get the book at the beginning of the year... and then when May came around and I saw the family-friendly match schedule, we went for the season pass.

So may have to pass the voucher on to friends/family and get value out of the Entertainment Book by eating lots of bagels and pizzas.  May get to use the Phoenix merchandise voucher but the kids are fully kitted out with the last season gear already.

You do know that the "proper" striped shirts are going to be available shortly at last making the original old (and boring) shirts, well, old and boring .........

Would these "proper" striped shirts change after a couple of seasons? I already have some proper striped shirts (black and white) one with an "ntl" sponsor logo and another with "northern rock".  given up buying anymore - probably the next one will be sponsored by "sh!te Management Ltd"

I reckon stripes are here to stay now - I'm sure it would have been stripes from the start if not for the restrictive Reebok shirt deal that was in place when the Nix started (look at the logo!).  Hence we are now finally getting the club's "proper" shirts, in terms of fundamental design at least (I'm sure there will be ongoing cosmetic changes (stripe thickness etc, though hopefully not pinstripe like Hull's new one!) but I think/hope stripes and the Nix will become synonymous from now on. The originals can become collectors pieces (i've certainly got one, but I don't expect to wear it much anymore!)

I'll be wearing my non-Sony one.  We haven't lost a home game since I started wearing it instead of a Fever T to matches.

Wouldn't want to spoil that superstitious run HN, but I reckon the trouble with the old shirt (and even more with the logo-less one) is that from a distance/at a quick glance it is not obvious what they are about (which sport, or even that it is about sport).  The big advantage with the stripes is that every one worn in a public place will be a clear and visible statement of support for Nix and for football.  I'm sure you'll get a striped one to wear at other times than matches, and don't forget about the supposed slimming qualities of stripes (which theory I expect you to be testing to its limits!)

I suspect I'll have more than one striped one, and an away.  Need them for the complete set going back to v1 Kingz - 10th anniversary this year.

Sew them all together and make a giant collage of strips that can be passed over the top of the Fever Zone...
