WTF about the defense, all the defense in the centre is AWOL.

Nice lay-off from Bertos to Greenacre, lovely assist. Bertos has been chasing the ball showing some passion to get the scoreboard ticking over for the Phoenix.

And Siggy, beautiful header!!!

they just played like it was an early preseason match. Crap defending in the centre. Muscat and Locky going OK

where is our central midfield? Troy and Leo doing well but Newcastle are having a fieldday down the centre....

This is just like watching a rerun of last year.....lonely strikers living off scraps. Long balls hoofed down the middle. Newcastle are a crap team and we are making them look good!!!

considering we have essentially two defensive midfielders, how was song free for the second goal, it was sigmund marking hoffman who had to leave him to attempt the block

pretty poor organisation tbh, thnk it would be better with a 'settled' back four

The defence is very disorganised, can't make their minds up whether to play an offside trap or not. Lochhead is looking good though.

Those horrible long balls we keep playing...grrrr!

from what we have seen of ifill, hes been alright, good touch and control. obviously take him a while to fit in the team but Ive liked what Ive seen

Three things

1: Brown and McKain cannot play together. To the bench you go Tim.

2: I think 99% of people here obviously think Ben Sigmund can walk on water and his sh*t don't stink. He scored a goal but only to make up for the 2 he conceded and almost a 3rd. Sorry Ben, throwing your arm up and playing the offside trap doesn't work in the A League. Leave that for Mainland Premier when you get back here. Defense is somthing you play, like marking another man, not playing like de post that holds up the defense.

yeah thats right theyve said some oody good things about the nix to. tbh I thought they were being overly nice at the beginning. hes being fair though, we have been playing sh*t, Im not complaining with him.

Correct. The comment that was actuall made was that the two teams are predicted to be the two bottom teams and that they are out to prove them wrong. The quote was taken out of context.

However - worst 45 of all the matches so far

Bertos and Hearfield are our wide men. End of. They look vastly improved, delivery is much improved on last year and in Bertos' case, he's giving it some leather.

Greeacre and Ifill are living on scraps because of the lack of midfield delivery but we expected that because of the lack of game time. They do both show enough to suggest they are gifted and when they finally get Phoenix game miles on the clock, they will be dynamic.

McKain is still a rock solid Def. midfielder.
