Explain.

I would assume if Terry lost the licence, there would be some sort funding arrangement say 50/50 with the NZF to keep the Nix going until a new owner was found. Therefore if the FFA pulled out we would be in a bit of trouble hence the signed piece of paper between FFA and NZF means nothing unless it comes into practice.

Why would it pay for Birighitti?

Of course, I am speaking figuratively, but the point stands -It will be an easy beat up story.

Interesting to see relative costs:

Local Rugby club - $45 a season, includes mouthguard, shirt, ball.
Local Football Club - $120 a season includes... um.
Are you paying $120 per kid? what do you get for that at your club?

$102.5 for one or $180 per family at Waterside Karori

Additional benefit is free access to the Karori Aquatic Centre over winter.

In terms of physical things we keep? Nothing.

They've still got (i think) 80 odd kids each in both 7th & 8th Grade, so not really affecting take up it would seem.

*edit* just re-counted

I was playing for Wests as a kid when we were officially recognised as the largest Junior club in NZ, subs were something like $40... though that was around 15 years ago.

And then Wests lost a tonne of players to tawa when junior regos went up over the $100 mark, while Tawa stayed at half the price.

Our kids get to take home some bits of Karori Park each Saturday.

Over several seasons we might have enough to make our own pitch.

I played cricket at Karori Park on Saturday and even though it hadn't rained since Thursday, and it was stinking hot up there, the ground was still soft and in some places actually wet enough for it to seep into my shoes.

Edit: Not exactly relevant to the conversation I know, maybe I should go back to talking about people from Pluto.

Ive only ever played at Karori a couple of times, both clear still sunny mid winter days and the ground on both occassions looked nice and green and super lush. Then you stand on it...

Wow those costs are huge, are they subsidising the senior teams at the club. Here in HB, Marist charge $90 and seem to have no problem with recruiting. We just put ours up to $80 and not a squeal, we include a team photo for that price also. I think we are about right in terms of not making a loss and getting sufficient new equipment and kit each year. We are a junior club and don't have a senior club sniffing around our cash reserves either.

Here in Ch-Ch, the JAWS (Junior All Whites) grade which is 3-5 yr olds pay $45, and the 6 to 18 yr olds pay $90.

They don't 'get' anything for that, only shirts provided, need to buy shorts and socks...

A good outcome from NZF becoming involved is that we could all ask to see the books...

What happened to my thread this morning about the Saudi sheik wanting to invest in the A-League?  (And my totally speculative slant that he might buy the Nix.)
