Nix Transfer Speculation 2019-20

Damn, really excited for this signing! One of Chelsea's loan brigade - remember they had really high hopes for him after signing him for his excellent performances in the U-20 World Cup (remind you of anybody?), but couldn't sort his work permit so resorted to loaning him out to Spain.

Not a bad player at all, and extremely excited to see how he pans out. Has the potential to be one of the better players in the league

He's an attacking midfielder, a Singh type replacement? Looks as though this guy is even shorter too...

At a stretch, a fill in winger too & a bit of a journeyman, been around some good clubs, but don't feel he's really cracked it anywhere so far. Will reserve judgement until have seen him get a few games under his belt.

Singh is 1.72, he is 1.73 :)

He is giving me strong Dani Sanchez vibes.

Going from twitter, Chivas wanted to sign him but the salary demands were too high. That's a good sign; as Chivas are the biggest club in Mexico. Whether they wanted to sign him because they thought he was good or if he's still a "name" in Mexico because of the unfulfilled promise at Chelsea; who knows.

Looks like a direct Singh replacement to me.

Seeing everywhere that he was rejected by Chivas, not that he rejected them

yes, but because they didnt want to give him as much money or game time as he wanted though right. Sounds like if he agreed to being a fringe player for cheap they wouldve signed him

Best thing about that clip, is that I thought he was right-footed for the first 5 minutes, then he was taking free-kicks with his left in the second 5. Being a central player adept with both feet is a massively underrated trait in the A-league. Not many players, Singh included, are good with both feet.

Apparently Delhi coach Josep Gombau signed Ulises to replace Andrija Kaliderovic in the January window because AK wasn't really firing.

Has 5 star weak foot on FIFA so is obviously considered two footed.

5 star weak foot on FIFA? He's going to tear it up in the A-league.

He's thanking Chivas for taking him in on trial, and says he wants to make it clear that it wasn't about money and his wage demands weren't too high, but it was a mutual thing. Sounds like a real nice fella going off what he's said and how he's said it

Hopefully having played in the Netherlands and India, he has good Spanglish.

I'm sure Welnix did their research, and Mrs Dávila has likewise done hers on Nueva Zelanda.

Has Mandi definitely been released? I thought there were some rumours he was still a possibility to stay.

Surely Wgtn is an upgrade on Delhi for Mrs Davila.

I wouldn't mind seeing Mandi back here. We certainly lack midfielders at the moment, he worked well with Rufer and his passing range was generally impressive even if only 90% of the time.

Import striker is a big one. Hope they splash out and come up with someone special.

Yep he wished them all the best for the season and thanked both the club management and the coaching team. All in nice polite Spanish without colloquial or slang expressions. He'll fit in at Wellington!

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

He does speak English well and seems like a really nice guy. Never heard anything official on Mandi but was mentioned in an interview a while back that they gave him an option to return but didn't think he would be back

Not sure if it was from a presser but it was widely circulated. This is bit from the Phillip Rollo article is a new twist in the tale tho

"Talay hinted that it is unlikely that Stensness would be offered a second chance if he fails to secure a deal elsewhere."

There must have been a lot of people watching his trial with interest, when the news broke he was heading to the Nix he hit the top 10 trends in Mexico. I guess he needed to explain to the public why he didn't join Chivas.

Ufuk's comment re: Stensness was fair enough I though, can't be a fall back option. It's about building a desire to build and progress, his heart wouldn't be in it if it didn't work out in Europe.

Honestly, I'll be surprised if Stensness gets a decent gig in Europe. He had a handful of appearances off the bench where he didnt stand out, and scored a wonder goal at the under 20s. Thats all he's got at the moment. Not saying he's not talented because i definitely wanted and expected to see him at the nix this year, but jeez thats a big decision to reject the club and try Europe. How many times have we seen star young players in the a league go to europe and then return with their tail between their legs 18 months later. And generally they are players who look like they're going to torch the league generally, whereas Stensness didnt even do that. Not hating on him but i thought he was poor sometimes. You have super talented guys like seb pasquali and danny da silva who went young and nevee cracked it. I just think too many young players rush before they're ready, and that Stensness is a huge example of that

I think playing alongside Bell during the u20's made Stensness look alot better than what he is. Good luck to him and I hope he does well but he certainly didn't look to flash for us.

I wonder if Western Melborune might be interested if he doesn't crack it in Europe. They haven't got much depth in midfield and Rudan bought him out to NZ

"Talay has also opened the door for a handful of New Zealand-based trial players, who will link up with the team when they commence pre-season this week. However, he would not reveal who those players were."

Are there any reports as to who the NZ based players are that will be training with the Nix? Rumors down south that one of those players being looked at is Garbhan Coughlan.
