I agree, Lochy has been one of our consistent players, he turns up each week and plays hard, sure siggy is right there with him but who can you drop from a winning side???? muscat can't even get back to his right back spot cos an attacking midfielder (hearfield) has done very well since slotting in 5 weeks ago....as long as we keep winning I don't care wo Ricki plays in what position.

you're correct. Lochhead has been consistently sh*te.

Have the nix ever been a low as $1.80 FTW?

Not that I know of... well and truly favorites.

My wife made a few $ picking the exact score from last weeks game. Hope she can do it again tonight!

look, i don't mean to bash lochhead, he does occasionally do some good things. but he gives away posession way too much, and to the guy who said he crosses well most of the time or whatever? dude, you must have ultra low standards. he's a paid professional footballer he should be able to cross the ball.  i'm going to be watching him closely tonight.  and if he has a blinder i'll be the first to put my hand up and admit it.

by the way it's $1.70 at tab now.  5-0 nix romping. you heard it here first. ifil 2, dadi 2, bertos 1.

His first job is to defend. His next job is to get forward and support the likes of Leo. He does both to a reasonably high standard consistantly. He certainly isn't a world-beating left fullback but he wont often let you down.

His attacking play the last few games, helped by Ricki's formation change and willingness to get the fullbacks forward, has been much, much better. He played better than Hearfield - don't see anyone saying that Hearfield is crap.

Am I the only person that is slightly worried whether the Nix will actually 'turn up' tonight or not?

We've never been such hot favourites to win a match, that sort of feeling can breed complacency in any teams Considering the Nix have been known to just not show up for games on occasion for no reason at all(I have no idea what goes through the heads of the team as a collective)...

Trust me I'm very much thinking that. Just makes me look at another nz side in an aussie competition.

By the way Nix half time/Draw full time paying $16.00! how manytimes have the nix had the lead only to concede a late goal. NOt that i would ever bet against them

Think everyone has that on their mind. In the A-League when a team is such heavy favourites it normally goes the other way. NZ teams (international or club) don't see to deal that well with the tag most of the time for some reason.

My team (blatant troll)

                    Spoonley
Pritchett Vicelich Ulhmann Hogg
                      Lee
              Williams Feneridis
Hayne          Koprivcic        Coombes

Apparently I'm lead to believe this team would eat up the others alive but those players never get the chance because the Phoenix aren't good for NZ football...

I share the thought.  Hoping like hell for a win, would suck majorly to lose to the Fairies at our fortress.

Saw some of the fairies round town, they were rugged up, as will everyone else tonight

Come on guys lets cut the negative thoughts, positivity is needed here. We will win tonight and by the end of next week we will have at least another 4 points [6 prefered]in the bank and we will be all set for those playoffs.

Whens the final have to start looking for cheap fares.

I'm picking either 4-1 to the Nix or a 1-1 draw. Leaning heavily towards the earlier. Won't be there so sing loud on my behalf.
Go the 'Nix.

Its no longer a problem.

He's right you know.  Have thought about this for quite a while and I can't fault the logic.

Wynton Rufer - 'Team X will really want to score more goals if they want to win the match", and variants thereof, for 10mins.

And in other news, bears really do sh*t in the woods.

How about Harry Ngata: "Shane Smeltz, he ceases to amaze..." at some point during the last season.

Wynton's a bit these days.
