Yeah, that's a fair summary, Tegal.  Jeronimo certainly deserved a yellow for unsporting behaviour.  I don't see anything in the Laws of the Game that would prevent that sanction, even if it were unequivocal that a player was fouled.  It was an obvious dive (possibly sporting more controversy here ......) unlike Torres', which I can't fully decide on.  Having played the game, I can understand justifiably going down with that sort of contact.  Referees need to be very, very sure if they're going to book players for simulation.  If Gillet had played the game of football, he would have seen that the way Jeronimo fell was inconsistent with an arm pull or shirt pull

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Boxall in for Siggy on Monday then.

I don't reckon we lose that much, if anything at all given his two appearances so far

Love the responses ignoring the points set out in that article in the comments below it.

Yup. Also loving all this "he was the last man" stuff. Nowhere in the Laws Of The Game is that phrase used. As for the "he grabbed his shirt"? I must have watched the wrong game, I didn't see any shirt tugging going on.

Anyway. Flights are booked for the 24th of February  :-)

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Sorry Junior. If the FFA say it wasn't a dive then I have to 100% agree with them. After all they know the game better than any fans do!

Hahahahaha. Ha. Ha. Gillet 'rotated out' of this week's round.

Good explanation by Ben Wilson regarding Sigmund's 'foul' but it would have been good to hear his thoughts on Jeronimo's dive and whether there was any scope for the referee to treat that as an offence separate from the foul.

In my opinion the "foul" and the dive were part of the same incident so therefore should have been treated as such.

After all, Gillett did not, and probably would not have blown his whistle for a "foul" had Jeronimo stayed on his feet.
