Exactly. I already know of one person who isn't bothering after last night's 'performance' so how many others will be in the same boat.

As I said above, if we'd lost that game 4-3 and were unlucky and it was an exciting game, I guarantee we wouldn't be feeling as downbeat about it.

I think we will see an alright crowd with it being a Friday night and dtart of holidays for kids, and last night out for us uni students too. If we marketed it for the kids in that way then we could maybe grab some more attention.

Not for primary school - that's 25 sept.  But junior footy finished this weekend so the kids can sleep in next Saturday and have a great night out on Friday (and learn some new words from YF-FZ!).

Long range weather forecast looks good too.

My heart sank when they bought Diego off before half time. My sky viewing was messed up so following the match was tough,  I knew he was having a bad game, but bringing him off just felt like a blow to morale. Particularly when he took his time.

Diegos walk to the side would've been why 3 minutes were added on before the break. Felt like 6 minutes

Thing is Daniel and Felipe were great back in the day because they could play off each other so well, ever since we've played just one at a time they've not shone.  Why then have we not seen Daniel/Diego playing together, or have Ifill/Bertos in central midfield so that we have some options on attack other than running it up the wings.

We have a great team its just a case of putting them in an attacking mindset, and not subbing off our only striker at 0-0 !

As soon as I saw that I thought "Right, they're only interested in 0-0." I think Diego was doing a chessboard-wipe-dummy-spit for being benched but I didn't notice Herbert hurrying him up.

Would prefer to lose 5-0 with flair than 2-0 boring. You got what you deserved.

It must be tough though when Ricki is of a mindset that a point, just because you are playing away, is a good enough result.

At least with Greenacre up front though we were always a threat, they had to keep defenders back to mark him because he's a clever striker that can make himself space.  As soon as he went off Sydney pushed more players forward and we couldn't death with it.  Worse than that, we were then down 1-0 and with our only striker off the field we had no way to really reply.

Still, this is one game's mistakes - hopefully we can learn from this and go forward positively.

Again, Sydney do not play with flair. You play even more boring under the Czech coach than you did under Kosmina. You're getting the results at the moment though which is what matters.

He's hanging around here because the Sydney fan's forum is such loathsome pit. Remember last season the Sydney fans calling Aloisi a c*nt and threatening him with violence? - charming.

Some people have such a lousy attention span....
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

OH well guys. We have a new mid fielder Adrian Caceres, that should spice a few things up because he is in the australian soccer team and he'd would want to keep his game on form

Huh? He is nowhere near the Socceroos. McKain would get a game before Caceres.

Opposition players are fair game, not your own players. As far as I remember even G** wasn't threatened with violence by a disgruntled Nix supporter - although I wouldn't have minded seeing someone muss up that pretty boy hair cut a little when he was moping about.

btw, Song is not a c**t. Thinking of Seo perhaps?

Haven't read back this whole thread, so this might have been mentioned but Michael Ferrante became the Phoenix's second most capped player last night - he's now played 40 games, one more than Shane Smeltz and three behind Tony Lochhead.

33 starts, 7 appearances as a substitute, 7 yellow cards and 1 goal

agree...poor sub from Ricky, at least with Greenacre on the pitch we had a chance...made it so much easier for Sydney once he went.

The player from Newcastle who fell over when Elrich elbowed him and Elrich got the red....? Wasn't Seo

It was Queensland and it was Seo.

Before Song even moved to the A-League.

You're not thinking of Stephen Laybutt's elbow on Felipe are you?

Watching that game i had a sense of deja vu. Same old failure to move the ball through the midfield, same old failure to hold possession.

Season one we defended like crap and attacked like barcelona. Look who we had in midfield then and whats missing now. Ross Aloisi and Felipe!!!!

To me we desperatly miss a Alosis type DM. Hugely experianced he held the midfield together...distributed and defended well and scored crucial goals.
Same with Felipe....OK he lost interest late season but with him there some of the interplay between him, Daniel and lockhead was breath taking. Imagine that sort of play now with ifill/Greenacre up front

They tried to fill the felipe/fred type roll with Diego but the jury is still out....I think he still has health issues that keeps him from giving 100%

Maybe that why they recruited Cacraces. As for replacing Aloisi....I'll say it again....get Simon Elliot.

If I hear/see DM one more time I swear I'll....

Bear with me. In the last four days I have heard it said that these respective clubs need a DM. Everton, Man Utd, Liverpool Barcelona, Miraramar and Phoenix. Is this a universal cure all for any imagined lineup problem, a DM. Please let me know. Please help me.

So all we need is 4 DMs, and we'll never lose again!!!

We need to start Greenacre and Chen upfront with Bertos/Ifill in  attacking mid to set them up....and next week rotate Caceras into the mix.  If it isnt working then use correct subs off the bench.

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen
