10pm kickoff?

Vukovic to start? News on Pastons injury?

I go for the same side with the only change being Vukovic for Paston if he isn't fit or else Vukovic for McMaster.

Hopefully Kosta doesn't burn us. He'll be pretty fired up for this one I'd imagine.

When did we sign Vukovic?

Three for me, and two for them.

Got to admit, after people's whinging about Sigmunds long ball game under pressure combined with the high pressure of Kosta and co. I'm worried it could turn into another long ball fest from us.

Hopefully Brownie and Lia step it up big time, although I can't sayI'm too confident, Brisbane having been looking very good recently, and we've got some bad memories of suncorp

If Kosta's finishing is anything like it was last weekend, it doesn't matter who we have in goal!

I think we should start to gel a bit better this weekend and hopefully have a few more attempts on goal than yesterday. Should be a close game, hard to pick the winner.

haven't seen much of the roar but saw them pre-season against everton and they looked very good at knocking the ball around and keeping possession but their strikers got out muscled and they struggled against  direct balls up to beckford and saha. So looks like a long ball from us. should be an interesting game two conflicting styles.

With Broich and Kosta pretty small and Reinaldo falling over if you touch him I'm not surprised. Just worried about pace really. Kosta could well run rings round Muscat or Lochhead much like Oar did last year at one point. Hope Muscat doesn't elbow anyone this time though.

They didn't say we'd lose just said it will be a tough match. Which is a very fair and true comment.

Well, I'm oddly confident about this game. Which is usually a recipe for disaster.

Would be very happy with a point.

Think we can win it, though - will need to play better than against CCM

Brisbane have pace for sure, but organised defence will easily keep them out. They spent a lot of time with nothing shots in their last game.

I'd say Ricki will mix it up with balls wide, and up the middle to Big Mac.

Hopefully Toto gets some game time, and the ball more often, with his vision we could see some good attacking play break out

Chalk and cheese I think. Kosta through pink lenses. He is playing as well as we have seen him I do admit though.
Will be an interesting game, I have liked the short passing game Brisbane have showed so far. Whereas we played long for a fair bit last week. Wonder what Ricki will bring forward to counter it

what's the latest on Paston, anyone?

From Radio Sport...

Wellington Phoenix goalkeeper Mark Paston is in doubt for Friday night's A-League football clash against the Brisbane Roar.

Paston pulled his groin in the first half of yesterday's 2-0 win over the Central Coast Mariners, but remained on the field.

He says he's sore this morning and isn't sure if he'll be 100 percent by Friday.

He says he'll need at least another 24 hours to see whether it settles down.

Paston is straight as a die so if he's not a 100% I'm sure he'll do the right thing by the team and step aside but tough situation for him - with Vukovic in town if he gives up his starting spot he may not get it back for quite some time.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Yeah I'd be concerned that their midfield could run us to sh*t if we try play with the ball on the ground the whole match. Away fixtures are a good excuse for playing the long ball, giving it up to D-Mac for the smaller, quicker lads to run off. Sure people might get antsy over the style but lets try and compete in this match and get something from it.

Brisbane have all the looks of a top contender this year (that after 2 matches). What worries me about this is the fear I have that Ange might actually know what he's doing, which is a worry for all the sane people in the world.

Why? I'm being serious here btw i don't understand what he's done. He's a decent bloke on and off the pitch and a good keeper too. Where does the hate stem from?

Three for me, and two for them.

Oh yeah, i forget he hates Elliottt too, despite the fact he is one of the top professional players of this generation of NZ players and has given plenty to NZ football over the past decade.

You have to wonder about some people.

Anyway, moving on...
