What was Pavlovich up to as well? That time when Ifill hit the diagonal ball and Pav didn't go for it was beyond belief, he could easily have got there!

Have to disagree here. it was obvious from the howls around the stadium that many agree with you, but that ball was always skidding well away from Pav. I thought I had a pretty good view of it.

On TV and replay, he would have got it if he tried.

I just watched that.

God that was a bad goal we gave away.
smith could have done better, but what was warner doing - he was asleep! That ball was headed about 2 yards from goal, the keeper could have eaten that for breakfast. yes I know it was windy, but really.

I'll show Burns Sportsmanship when he shows some to other players.

He lumps people, dives and whines at the ref for 90 minutes every week.  How he isn't sent of every fortnight I have no idea.

I was stoked to see him get the sort of treatment he gets every week.  Hope he's out for a month,

Vile.

I said "I actually hope he is really badly hurt" after thinking he was putting it on.

That's usually way over the top but I don't regret it.

Fuck this stupid game

sh*t game. We looked very tired asnd lethargic. Rule a line under it and move on.
I dont think Warner could have done a lot more with that goal. He had every right to expect defense to clear that. Not easy to stop a free header from 3 yards!

I can only recall the one chance we created all game which was Daniel hitting the bar from 12 yards out, on his left foot. He should have scored. Possibly the reason he was dragged? Was disappointed with the way he crawled off the field when subbed. He might have not liked the idea, but it was our time he was wasting. Compare that with the way the ultimate professional Greenacre handles it.

As for Pav, He hurt his arm shortly after coming on, but he was terrible, the diagonal ball from Ifill summed his lack of effort up today. He had something of a repreive with two goals against the Jets, but today he just diod not seem interested. IIRC we are stuck with him for all of next year as well.

I did not think Brown was that bad today, he does win a lot of ball in midfield and I feel sorry for him and Lia because they get f**k all assistance defensively from Bertos and Daniel.

As someone mentioned earlier, age has caught up with Leo, he has no pace and as such constantly cuts inside or stops and turns the ball back to a fullback (or gives the ball away). When he does get a cross in, they rarely beat the first defender and because he can no longer beat a player, they are usually delivered from around the top of the 18 yard area which is an ineffectaul area that rarely causes a defense trouble.

Ifill showed some good touches, but is well short of fitness and does look very tentative at the moment.

Greenie remains the ultimate pro at the club IMO. and we look better with him on the field than when he is not. Sure he is not scoring goals but he is doing well as a target man and when the ball is played into his feet he holds up well and lays the ball off nicely which is where many of our best attacking moves originate.

Sadly we really needed those three points and with 7 of our last eleven games away from home they may very well profve costlty.

Moving forward, we dont have too many options, Ward in for Bertos?, Maybe Smith for Brown? My 72 year old dad who has Parkinsons for Pav, but in reality that is about it.

Disappointing game, soaking Wet getting to the car after the match and with wet bollocks and the memory of that game, even the Beer after the game was not enjoyable.

just feel like that was the breaking point of our season, and means we wont be getting any home playoffs= early exit.

Pav just isnt the striker we need. And definitely not smart to bring him on with 30 to go and still needing a goal.

Midfield needs to be sorted and ricki needs to shake up brown and leo. Lia was bad last night as well I thought.

As someone else said, its easy to get at Ricki but he picked the same team as last game that did the business and then this week they don't play. That's not the coaches fault. To be frank, Perth were better than us but only just. Were they 1 goal better? debatable but they could feel aggrieved if they had lost 1-nil that's for sure.

On the other hand though, we were playing a quite different team, and Tim Brown (or Siggy?) was even in the paper going on about how Perth flood the midfield and keep the game very tight etc. Ricki didn't bother changing his personnel or tactics though so you could argue he got it wrong.

aqccording to ricki we didnt adapt to conditions and tried to play too much football. all those shots on goal reflect that

rojas, so special

Well he maybe has a point there. First half in particular the players were chipping long passes around like they didn't realise the pitch was soaked and the ball would skid off it and take it away from the intended target. It was so frustrating to watch. They should have been hitting low shots at goal wherever possible to take advantage of the slippery surface but I don't think we hit a single shot like that.

Apart from Daniels effort that hit the bar, did we actually have a shot all game??

Sounds like we were dog sh*t but don't blame ricki - point the finger at the guys on the field. We were awesome last week and sounds like this week they were scared of a bit of rain. The coach doesn't hold their friggin hand out there - some people need to realize that

Come on... seriously? Ricki is far too hands off with this team and its this group of players and squads before it that have delivered better results than Ricki's know how and efforts deserve.

His subs alone are a clear window into how well he reads a game.

perhaps Smith would make a better central striker sub than Pav and use ward/leo as midfield sub

haven't read all the thread but my 2 cents worth....the lqads looked tired, which is fair I suppose, but given Perth played wednesday and flew to us inexcusable to be outplayed by them. I though subbing daniel was the wrong call, he was far more dangerous on attack than Leo, I hope we sign smith permanently! he seems to fit well with the team and offers a lot.

I feel like Ricki just doesnt know how to rotate the squad. We have fresh guys praying for gametime, but continually play stale out of form 30 year olds who really can't be expected to play to their best this regularly without a break.

Smith is the calssic of this, he is fit, fast and capable of playing almost anywhere, giove brown a rest, or Leo a start from the bench, put smith as one of the mids and push and Daniel; and Ifill out wide, loo0ks afar more attacking and solid midfield than the current dullfest.

Just lookwed at Perfs goal again. Although Smith and Warner seem to be copping lots of blame (Warner incorrectly in my view), have a look at who missed a chance to clear the ball before it even bounced..... yes thats right Step right up My Pavlova!

should never have been a free kick in the first place, sure pav, smith and Warner should have done better but if they weren't put in the position in the first place we'd be bemoaning a 0 - 0 scoreline.

I agree, not a free kick, but still does not excuse the way it went in.  Any team will always get decisions for and against that are dicey
