Phone-Nix reaps rewards again (even if the grammar is questionable):

Phoenix has signed Barbados international and former Millwall, Blades and Crystal Palace striker Paul Ifill, details on www.wellingtonphoenix.com (not actually there yet)

Anyone know if he's any good?

He played alongside tim cahill in that millwall side in the FA Cup final in 2004 actually. Got the game recorded somewhere I'll have to dig it up.

This is a really exciting signing, two teams paid 800k or more for him in the last four years, only for Neil Warnock to be a hater.

Being injury prone, he still averaged almost 30 games a season for the last two, where he played for Crystal Palace. That's almost enough to play every game on the way to the Grand Final!

He played 31 games last season scoring 7 goals.  That's the most he would play for us in a season if we made the grand final.  That would suggest some of his injury issues are solved.

HA! And here's me thinking you hadn't credited me. I've slagged you off in the chants thread nonetheless!

Love you long time Smithy

Anyone who has sat in the rickety wooden stand above the Players Lounge at Selhurst Park will know its not the most glamorous place in the world, yet you may frequently find WAGs Boutique star Elle Isaac sitting there, drinking in the crisp Croydon air. She met Palace and Barbados midfielder Paul Ifill while working as a bar manager in Brighton during her university holidays, and they had a daughter named Romy in 2006.

Not particularly worried, he should be a fantastic signing! Has had a solid career, and if required I'm sure would be a succesful forward at A-League level (high goals:game ratio for a midfielder as it is), and will probably be better that what we already have if required to play mid/out wide, so I think a fantastic signing.

Not a scoring dynamo at Crystal Palace but certainly can take a sweet shot so a great attacking option for us whatever position he plays.

I just want him to be able to put a cross in that actually finds one of our players, (if he plays on the wing).

pleased with this signing.

Him on one side and Leo (with his new-found crossing ability) on the other in either a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 will be fantastic.

Can't be worse than Ahmad Elrich at crossing.

Very happy with this signing.  Good effort Tony P!  I assume this is the chap who didn't need a trial (as we didn't trial him)?  Now let's hope one of the trialists does enough to impress.
