Just posted;

"Albion trialist Paul Ifill is joining Wellington Phoenix, according to reports in Australia.

The A-League club's official website claims Ifill has agreed a two-year deal with them.

The Brighton-born winger trained with Albion yesterday and was due to play for the Seagulls in tonight's friendly at AFC Wimbledon."

Hopefully Ifill was just keeping his options open and Albion hadn't caught up with his signing.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

They probably know, but Australia is where their contacts are based.

Surely he can't slip through our grasp like Porter. If he does... you have to seriously question our ability to close a deal...

I really doubt the club would announce anything not 100% locked down.

Hopefully he has signed fully and he was just training to get fit for when he comes to us!

It seems as if Brighton are looking at signing him. Their coach was quoted as saying this......
Slade said, "We need to strengthen across midfield and Ifill fits that bill. He can play wide right, wide left or up front if necessary."
It looks as if Ifill is far from being a nix player

The quotes from the Brighton coach will have been yesterday.  The situation has changed.  Calm down.

Wellington Phoenix have completing the signing of former Crystal Palace winger Paul Ifill on a two-year contract.

Sky Sports.

Anyway, Hi everyone, when palace release a player who then joins an interesting club, its always good too see what the fans are expecting.

To be fair im not sure of the quality of the A-League compared to the English Championship but ill assume they are similar for your benefit.

Ifill to be honest was pretty Cack at Palace, never tried hard and looked abit overweight. However his touch is excellent and he can unleash a piledriver of a shot. He lacks Physical Strength in the air which is a shame considering hes a big lad. He can knock in the occasional good cross though. He isnt as fast as you would like and his balance is awful he developed the nickname "Ifall" at palace.

Good luck to Paul though and GoodLuck to The Phoenix Next season hope he does well. And as we all know just because his time at palace wasnt great doesnt mean hes a bad player.

General consensus is that the A-League is roughly at League 1 level I think.

Not exactly a positive message from the CP fan. There seems to be a very mixed consensus about him. Guess we wont know until he starts playing - I heard Dadi was kack before he came to the A-League as well.

Dadi was Potty-esque when trialling at Burnley 7 odd years ago.

So you never can tell.

I know, I know, its serious!

Thats good news. Nice timely call to him as well. I'll be happy and settled once we get our fourth striker in the squad.

Ask him to bring out one of his club shirts to hang up at the BB

He could be the perfect signing we have all be wanting. An attackive midfielder who will create and score. Also the ability to move out wide in an injury.

Play him behind Greenacre and costa/last signing and move him up in other situations or if we have injuries?
Also could play a barca style 4-3-3 with him and Bertos on either flank?

Atleast when the AW's leave later in the year, all our attack force will still be around

I'm guessing the 'wish list' still includes an out-and-out striker.

Centrebet offering $34 on Ifill to be top scorer this season - worth a lazy $ or 2.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Same here. Got him in my fantasy team. He seems the type that will always pop up in the right spots and finish well.

More thoughts on Ifill. Same stuff. Quite negative.

Apparently we were chasing a different Palace player at first. Scowcroft?
