He was not sent off for a tackle from behin d, he was sent off for violent misconduct and deserved to be so.  An absolute brain exlposion the way he launched himself.

Like others I would not boo our own player off the pitch but clapping him off ffs? That sort of retarded behaviour could have cost us valuable points that were hard won the ugly way.

I hope Manny and Siggy take him aside and give him a good slap.

He shows pace, and commitment, but about a year ago I said all he seems to bring is the ability to run around the pitch looking angry. He really needs to step up and show more this year or he should be moved on. There must be something there as you can not be a total numpty and make the Aussie Olyroo squad

The kid that played for Miramar that came from Man U academy? Ben Collett at the Knights came from Man U as well. Just cause he plays in the Olyroos doesn't mean there is something about him. Steven Old also played for the All Whites along with Andy Boyens.... Jeff Vader2011-12-12 09:40:25

I slagged off Pav last week saying he was useless.
When he came on as sub on Saturday, I told all those around me on saturday how useless he was.
His first two touches were quite good, and I said bloody hell I bet he scores in a minutes to make me look an idiot.
But sure enough he failed in that task, and provided even more evidence to me that he is clueless.

Its like someone has gone out and found the fittest quickest young boxer , and given him some football boots for the first time. Raw isnt the word.

And woefully one footed.

You can deduce that he is not the sort of player Id pick for my team.

He's a lemon and will be gone before next season ,and as for  the ridicoulous  clapping when he came off what was that about ?theres loyalty and blind loyalty the tackle was a disgrace ! Kiwi Jambo2011-12-12 10:24:57

No goals, no assists, in his 3 seasons (admittedly riddled with injury and non-selection) of a-league football. If we had any depth in our squad he wouldn't get a look in, but no doubt if he gets to play the final 20 mins for the rest of the season hen will eventually score.

I have my doubts.

ditto, I like his enthusiasm, but that tackle was bordering on assault, he lost the ball and lashed out with tackle from behind. Anyone who tries to justify is daft - to do that in the 93rd minute was plain stupid, it served no purpose - ie slowing tha game down....there was no way Perth were going to score from that position in the time remaining. It was simply revenge for taking the ball off him. Fully deserved the red card and whatever fine the club throw at him.

Ben Collett was a very talented player and could have gone a long way in the game.
Arrived at the Knights as damaged goods after recieving a double break to his leg playing against Middlesborough Reserves
More or less had to retire.   Took Middlesborough to court and was award 4.3m pound settlement

Back to Pav,
I must be the odd one out because I do see something in the lad
It comes down to the Nix syndrome, if you are a reserve there is no where to get game time
I definately see him pushing greeny to the bench by the end of the season.
Dum tackle, but was the motive heated revenge, or did think he was putting his arse on the line for the team?

Tim Brown had to explain to a kid why he couldn't get his autograph card fully signed.

This. A stupid tackle but trying to trip him, not break him. Whether he's got the goods to make it as a pro footballer I don't know, but some of this Tard-like vitriol is pathetic.

Not sure about why he did it. Does seem like a bit of a munter, but not sure why people hate him so much as a player. Could be 'cause he looked like a skinhead shark last season.
I do see something in Pav, and would be happy to see Greenie get a rest. Yeah Pav hasn't scored, but it's not like he has missed a tonne of sitters (like half the team), has a pathetically weak shot (Leo) or couldn't score in a Brothel (Dura, Lia, Manny, probably Lochead). Pav might be all those things but I don't think he has proven that yet. And his touch against Sydney and against Perth was great, almost Manny quality. He just seems to be a little over eager to score so is unsure in front of goal. I can see him helping the team a lot at the moment. Even just his speed could help the team a lot. And in 90 minutes Leo beat 1 defender, in 15 minutes Pav beat at least 1 that I can remember.

How can you expect Leo to be a goal hero when he spends most of his time glued to the touchline and rag on Dura, Manny and Lochhead when they are in the back line????

Oh I'm not at all, just examples of players who can't score. They don't need to be able to obviously. I rate Dura and Manny very very highly, wish they could play for the all whites. Probably rate Lochead higher than most on this website too. Do think Leo should be able to shoot to play in our 4-3-3, even when it is more of a 4-5-1.

Well done Pav....two very well taken goals. Best way to prove your doubters wrong is to do the business out on the pitch. I owe you an apology....well played son!! I hope you kick on and have a stellar season.

Loved seeing him score. He deserved it. I was also starting to doubt, but was so pleased seeing him take his chances finally.

Also love that he took a great goal in the air, a strength of his game I hadnt considered

Redeemed, Pav may come good after all.
Another couple goals to make it legit though, after all the first was goal on a plate from Daniel.

the first one was a terrible piece of defending by that CB, he tracked pav nicely then forgot about im and stood there ball-watching, daniel just waited for something to open up and thanks to that muppet it did

nice finishes from pav both times

should boost his confidence somewhat, monkey off his back, can see him bagging a few more soon!

Yes, I have always said that he is rubbish, last night he did well though....however I think even I could have scored against that defense!!

Well done to the lad, now he has to kick on from here...

Apologies from me to Pav - said he wouldn't score for us, and he proved me wrong with 2 well taken goals (albeit like someone mentioned above, some horrendous defending.)  As to whether he is worth persevering with in the long term, at this point I still think no, but he has time to proove me wrong.   I hope he does.

Haven't seen the replay, so speaking from my (drunken) memory - it was actually good piece of attacking play, the Jest defenders pressed the ball trying to either win possession or catch Pav offside, but Daniel had enough skill to hold on to the ball and slip the ball to Pav who in turn did pretty well himself to stay onside.

I do reserve the right to completely change my mind on this once I see the replay.
