Welcome aboard TAB.

Wellington Phoenix FC has secured a new partnership with national sports betting agency TAB Sport that will help assist the club in enhancing its profile throughout New Zealand.
The partnership will see TAB Sport's logo featured on the sleeve of the Phoenix's playing strips and training gear, starting with this Sunday's home match against Melbourne Heart at Westpac Stadium in Wellington.
It will continue the following two Hyundai A-League seasons, with a range of exciting initiatives planned by the club and TAB Sport.
Wellington Phoenix FC Chairman Rob Morrison said the partnership was another strong vote of confidence in the club and would help the Phoenix further strengthen its ambition of growing and developing support for and interest in its brand and football nationwide.

Has NZ legislation changed, I didn't think betting companies were allowed to advertise in NZ, hence Melbourne Victory taping over their betting agency sponsors on previous trips?

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

Wasn't that because it was an Aussie betting company? I thought the fuss was because they don't allow foreign betting companies to advertise?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I assume they got approval from FFA before annoncing this?

Won't they now have issues going to Australia with TAB over there?

Even at the bloody ridiculous price of $7 a bottle. At least i will be saving some money in future as im not paying that sort of price for that stuff.

Yet another instance of stadium catering companies ripping off the public. One of the reasons i dont buy food there is that they are nothing but thieves. That fish they use costs them buggar all,it comes in boxes of about 55 pieces which they would get for less than $50.Bloody thieves.

Not a case of being picky at all, thats part of the problem we seem  to  easily accept being ripped off as being just part of the experience.Dosnt only happen at the stadium but with other things as well.

I can't help but speculate that this deal may have a little to do with our former Interim CEO now working for the TAB.

Horrendous odds for first goalscorer though. Although, it is first PHOENIX goalscorer so slightly more acceptable.

The fever podcast used to be sponsored by the TAB.  They gave us quite a lot of money, but Piney (with his disastrous, secret gambling addiction) gave it all back.

Surely a player who has NEVER (?) scored should have higher odds that 24/1?

Although Muscat proved that anything can happen I guess. He was at 54/1 on Bet365 incidentally.

Piney at 1721 today:

Legend wrote:
Manny Muscat scored in his 85th A-League game, Andrew Durante in his 86th, but Tony Lochhead hasn't scored in his last 92 games

That implies that Lochhead has previously scored? Unsure.

Having Piney mocking him on twitter is not going to help with his confidence
