Provided he has a good knowledge base and gets along well with players and staff he might be a perfect fit. Keep in mind our goal keeps are just learning the basics of what it takes to be a professional. Dylan may be perfectly good enough to continue their development.
Another words I don't think anyone should have an issue with the appointment provided the club has done their due diligence during the hiring process.

Would make a lot of sense. Big Japanese connection in Sao Paolo especially. Maybe open up the door for another Brazilian?

Bring on Zico, wishful thinking though.
But yes does make sense to have someone that can speak their language to get the most out of the players.
Our new assistant coach, Kelly Guimarães.

Welcome Kelly Guimarães. 👏
Did the odds of us picking up a Brazilian #10 just go up?

Fresh ideas, and a fresh approach, and now we just need a few more links to be completed in the player recruitment department and my optimism will have somewhat recovered from the despair of last season.
Imagine the likes of the younger brigade - LBS, GSR, and Walker, will be relishing the chance to work with a guy who seemingly encourages a bit of free licence going forward. Good stuff.

100%
Cynically I was thinking that unconventional channels also work in reverse. Our best chance of getting anyone in at all is if they don't know us.
Not my opinion, just being a dick
I do think that the Phoenix would be a very attractive place to come and work.
He will hopefully be able to relate to the Japanese boys.
I don’t think the Chief has the ability to successfully implement an attacking change of style, so it will be all down to this chap.
Hopefully Chief focuses on the defence and allows this guy free reign
Also hoping with his background and contacts that he brings in a Brazilian number 10.
Auckland will rise once more
I'm sure GSR's Brazilian dad who is apparently a footballl coach in Hong Kong, will be particularly pleased with this appointment. Hopefully GSR can stay injury free this season, and showcase the talent that has impressed those in the know. We saw glimpses of it with the FA Cup game in Darwin.
I just wonder, how much of this is Gilly (the club) and how much is Chiefy.

It will be very interesting to see how our defence performs this season without Griffiths.

Kelly Guimarães’ appointment means there’s just one role to be filled in the Wellington Phoenix men’s coaching staff, with a lead analyst/second assistant to be appointed in the near future.

So I assume that the two coaches, plus the vacant 2nd assistant / analyst will take care of the entire gambit.
For reference, clubs in top leagues would normally run with 2-3 fitness coaches, 2-3 keeper coaches, 2-3 performance analysts, and 4-5 'actual' coaches including the head coach and assistant. I'm pretty sure A-League teams normally have 3 'actual' coaches with possibly another analyst.
I assume the analyst's main task is to slowly rub his thumb and forefinger on his chin and say "hmmmmm" a lot.

They are definitely bringing through some local young coaches with ALW & girls Academy teams.

I've probably missed some, but it seems like Kiwi coaches have continued to be overlooked for many years...
Also are you absolutely certain that Kiwis havnt been considered or are you assuming thats the case.
Dont think a Kiwi should be just given a job because they are a Kiwi they first need to be qualified and capable of doing the required job and then importantly be able to work with those already there.
