I was merely using that as an example of why I think it might be a smaller crowd.  If three of the group that run this place are away then you can possibly extrapolate that among the Wellington football fraternity and therefore the Phoenix spectator base.

But by all means, read something else in to it (damned if I can figure out what)....

Nah I just read it as the usual raging egocentricity some of the YF "ringleaders" possess on here.

No offence intended.

If they're egocentric surely you'd be giving them a hug?

Going to push the limits and do a Phoenix Thursday followed by a Fever Friday and I guess that will need a Serepisos Saturday.

On stuff it mentions Ricki maybe starting Greenacre and Chen up front with Ifill in the midfield.... Which is what i thought would be a good choice given the lack of goal lately..

yeah i think so too. Wish we had found that elusive targetman now because Chen doesnt look as promising as I thought. I really hope a 442 works out because I'd like to see Ifill out wide and 2 strikers in the middle. Makes me feel like maybe that Astroclaus guy with the height and spped, may have worked really well off our mids. Oh well.

Bring in a guest striker if we cant get Fred..

its ok don't panic, I had a dream the other night that Greenacre will score a header in this match to win the game. Sorted.

Chen and Greenacre dont have much of a physical prescence (as Ricki himself admitted) which is my main worry.. but I still think it will be a lot better with two forwards to aim for.

If we persist with long balls with two short asses up front i will be highly pissed off though!!

We're talking football not R-rated activities aren't we?

Ricki talked about the need for Lia and Brown to get forward more as we are getting too one dimensional, playing 442 will in itself create a different style of game.

While crosses into the box may not be the order of the day, stretching the play and having two players up front will mean more options.

Spurs were supposed to play the little and large when Crouch was signed, but they have done better with little and littler and good movement from midfield.

Can someone tell me why Barbarouses is listed as being promoted every Thursday when he isn't exactly demoted at any point.

It means he wasn't in the matchday squad of 15 last week....so he is promoted to it this week.

However, with a squad of 18 named on Thursday with three to be omitted, he's often left out, making the whole thing meaningless really.

really liking the idea of two up front.

would like to see Barbarouses on bench but im thinking he might not, if you have a wide player on the bench, then Ricki will just pull off Chen and put on Hearfield.
So Daniel, Marco and Costa ommited.
Would love it to be Ferrante.

On a side... Mulligan must be getting the hint he isnt needed. Everyone else is mentioned bar him almost every week

It's a bit of a pity that half of Wellington football supporters will be in Napier for the weekend. Will have to watch this one on TV.

Brilliant stuff here from Bleiberg...

GOLD Coast coach Miron Bleiberg has cheekily advised Wellington Phoenix counterpart Ricki Herbert to forget about trying to topple the A-League leaders on Sunday and instead concentrate on piloting New Zealand to the World Cup.

That would be the perfect inspiration for the Team!

Ricki can download the colour copy off the latest news stories and pin it around the walls.Smart*rse.
This would be the perfect time to amp it up Wellington Phoenix. And Yellow Fever.

Lets be at 'em!

"There'll be no white flags 'round here, Mr Blieberg..no white flags 'round here!"
hmm..gotta find a tune and make a chant.

His quote at the end about AWs player having their minds on the Bahrain game rather than a league game, does that go for Smeltzy also?
