I must admit....though I will never repeat it...I actually know SFA about football!!!!
However I do know about business....its what I have been doing internationally for the last 20 years or so. In my humble opinion and in the opinion of my colleagues who I work with and value their opinions highly.....that Serepisos Inc is in the last stages of termination.

We have all seen plenty of examples of what Terry's business'sare going through and I am afraid that unless someone steps in with a huge cash injection that it is all over. It is not just about paying off the IRD today....its about the ability to keep the business's running commercially in the future.

In some ways it might be better to clear the air now. Either there are people out there ready to take over and run the club or not. Its better to find out now than have the club stumble along and eventually fall to pieces in a very ugly and public way. At least if there is a change now it gives any potential owners the time before next season to get things like recruitment done in a proper way.

The club has only 12 players on its books...and a skeleton back room staff. Its not fair on players or fans to draw this out. I would rather see if there are new new owners out there and get this over with. IMO there is a higher probability that there are potential new owners than Terry having the finances to run a proper viable football club.

As much as we owe Terry for giving us a club to begin with, I 100% agree mate. Time for a new owner to clear the air and give us a fresh start

If Terry really was going down this bad, and couldn't afford to run the club AND keep his businesses etc afloat...If there was a rich guy with an open chequebook willing to take over the club, don't you think they'd of stepped forward by now?

I'll take my chances with Terry thanks.

But News, people keep telling us over and over again, there are DOZENS of deep-pocketed millionaires just itching to lose $1 million a year owning a football team in Wellington! If only Terry would get out of the way.

While you're hoping for a new owner you may as well dig a hole, put a dollar coin in it,fill it, and hope for this:

That's 100% opposite to all the rumours I've heard, which was that no-one is prepared to co-own with Terry.

Lolz after court.  Journalist crowd arounf Smithy and I for comments.  TV3 lady takes the led and asks a few questions.  TVNZ pops up and asks Smithy 'as a player, does this make you confident in the future of the club'.  Smith's reply.  I'm not a player.  Dumbass.

Isn't what he's saying confirming that? Somebody wanted to buy the club but Terry would only sell 50%, so no deal.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Hey, some troll on 442 is claiming that Japanese sources paid the $4 million in return for Terry building them some cheap apartments in the earthquake zone. Clearly bullsh*t, but still the best theory yet (apart from "WGA came through").

EDIT: ... meanwhile, Ali Syed's private jet has left Cyprus. Terry's cuzzies must have let him go.Doloras2011-04-19 10:57:56

I guess the credence of the Nelsen rumor is based on him having an exit if Blackburn get relegated?

Still, seems a bit confused- why not spend the $4m on a new owner partnership with a clean slate of debts?

I can't see the Admiral turning his nose up at a Championship salary. If it was a NZ team based in Christchurch, then I might buy it.

Donation of Yen later transferred to bank in Key Wee Kingdom, on promise that Greek man become builder of property cheap. Japan need many new home, TV events watched by Australia would see this.

Donation of Yen to Mr Terry, as spoken by official, payment made once and no payment donated again to Mr Terry until propery cheap erected for excited citizens.

Yeah, and that guy owes LOADS more than Terry. He just wasn't dumb enough to host a TV show. Or be Greek.

Matt Nippert's version of events. You can actually hear his teeth grinding as you read. Plenty of people nutting off in the comments as well.

Another life as Serepisos part-pays IRD - but judge not satisfied

I didn't realise that IRD actually wanted to withdraw all the proceedings but it was the judge who refused to do so for two of the companies.

Oh, those comments... I love them all turning on one guy who starts talking, not unreasonably, about tall poppy syndrome, lop lop lop.

Terry for PM- sounds a bit like his mediterranian cousin Berlusconi rather than Trump

I concur! Heartily! (Barely disguised racism also noted.)

Seriously - is it appropriate for the judge to pass comment on what two consenting parties to a case agree? It's like he was about to have a judicial orgasm with the liquidations and he's got a serious case of blue balls now.Doloras2011-04-19 17:27:45
