a: If today is in fact d-day, he will more than likely have a 5pm deadline.
b: That is if Terry doesn't sweet talk them into giving him another week.
c: In light of point a, its unlikey that that we will hear any thing on this until Wednesday at the earliest because of the process they would most likely have to go through to get it all sorted.

I think those stalking the forum waiting would be better to come back in 2 days when there is more likely to be something

Alternatively, can somebody please stalk the NBR Office and report back if they see a copious amount of champagne being delivered!

surely they have a meeting booked in place at say 5pm today, where Terry will have to check off every box on the list, or else that it. I wish it could be resolved today.

Dont want it dragging out more than this

Couldn't that ex-Queenstown security guard please post some footage of the meeting on you tube?

I wonder how Terry will react if he loses the club, will he give an interview or slowly fade away.

Sad day for him and the NIX (assuming he loses control), but hopefully the beginning of something better.

Perhaps not as advanced as we think.

Mr Serepisos met with Mr Gorman at FFA headquarters this morning with an FFA spokesman describing the talks as "constructive''.

"They're still looking over the ownership of the club and ways to move forward. There's no set deadline for any announcement or any change of ownership or any continued ownership from Terry for that matter.''

Can somebody please get inside NBR's paywall and report back on Matt Nippert's latest miserable excuse for a story...

While you're there leave a comment asking him how he can even sleep at night knowing he is the worst investigative journalist on the face of the earth (I'm pretty sure it was the NBR who first reported the 19th as being "D-Day").

The essential problem with Burgess/Nippert and similar is not, I think, that they're bad journos (certainly Nippert's done some good work in his day), it's just that they are too close to the story now and are too emotionally invested in Terry going down, so they have ended up "prematurely ejaculating", in the journalistic sense. (Eg. "OMG DUNAJTSCHIK OWNS 55% OF THE NIX! Woops, take that one back.")

saying Tez had discussions with some capital raising outfit Kelston out of Hong Kong.

Kelston principal William Henderson, formerly of Wellington, told NBR some discussions had taken place with Mr Serepisos but they ended unsatisfactorily.

[QUOTE=terminator_x on 13 Sept]The ODT reported the deadline as being before his next court appearance, which would make sense as he would have had to strike a deal with his creditors by then (or not). The NBR is now claiming the deadline is actually September 19 which is before the planned date for the creditors meeting (September 23) and his next court date (September 26). Seems strange.

Occam's Razor suggests that the NBR/DoomPost excitedly interpreted "Terry goes to meet the FFA on September 19" as "Terry goes to meet his DOOM on September 19".

On a related note, it is Talk Like A Pirate Day.

Wellington Phoenix chairman Terry Serepisos met with Football Federation Australia representatives in Sydney today regarding the clubs ownership.

Discussions between Mr Serepisos and the FFA are ongoing with both parties continuing to work toward a positive outcome for the Football Club.

In recent weeks there had been widespread speculation that a definitive deadline of Monday September 19 had been set to determine the future of the Wellington Phoenix. That was not the case.

Football Federation Australia and Mr Serepisos will continue discussions in the next few days and will make an announcement concerning the ownership of the club in due course.

Until that time the club will continue to operate in its current capacity.

Just another example of the exec not being nice.

even if he's required to have the money and paychecks up to date by today Terry will tell them he's got some imminent money coming thru and they'll give him some more grace
same way he's behaved with every creditor and deadline in the past

They seem to have changed it to

"While these discussions were very constructive, FFA has no further comment to make at this stage.''

All this may not matter a hill of beans, if - as has been suggested - the creditors meeting will tell Terry "pull out of the Nix or we bankrupt you here and now."

dissapointing.

So why had Mr. Van Hattum guaranteed the decision would be today? Seems like he is either out of the loop, or dates have changed

Well, of course he is. It's between the FFA, Terry, and the Fab Four.

There is less than 3 weeks till the start of the season, we need some certainty. If Terry is going to string it out, I hope he has the goods. 3 players still to be signed too.

Yeah, he always does, that's how he's survived this long. He still seems fairly confident that the WGA loan will come through (although I prefer to believe he knows that he's been conned and is just biding his time until he can get the Cypriot mafia after Ali Syed).

On the other hand, he did tell the DoomPost, rightly, that they would have "egg on their face" if they published the "Sep 19 deadline" story. As I say, the real test is not what the FFA say, it's what the creditors' meeting says.

BTW, now that the identity of the Fab Four is revealed, perhaps el grap would be so kind as to tell us what kind of "unsavoury characters" he had heard were involved in a rival bid?
