Yes, he did.

[QUOTE=Hard News] That's all well and good but you guys are miles and years away from this.  Terry is not now and never has been an approachable sort of guy.  Trying to have a chat with him about his finances is merely going to piss him off, hell it does when his staff do it.

What does that achieve?  Terry isn't going to magically change his position but he'll be f**ked off with people.

It's a lovely ideal, and when you have a 100 year-old-club, shareholders and an engagement of history with people that's fine but the truth is this a club built on one mans ego.  Me, Feverish or Smithy wandering in to his office to tell him what he's doing wrong is only going to bruise that ego and lose any chance the Fever have of a voice with the club and increase his siege mentality.

Which is pretty much what I said, but hey, I've obviously just not got a f**king clue about any of this so maybe one or all of Hard News, Smithy, Feverish, 2nd Best should jump in now and you guys just sort out what's the best thing to do amongst yourselves.

alright - don't get all sulky.

Your comment last week that I was responding to today, was about comments I made around the time that HN made some legitimate comments on the situation (which was also last week).  I think that they were long overdue, but we have them now and they were appreciated.  As HN says, JD and I are (litterally) a million miles away from it all but that does not make our ideas or thoughts on the matter any less relevant.

I am not trying to drag up old arguements, but the fact Terry rang Smithy out of the blue to speak to him about the situation a few months ago is a positive sign that could be looked to be built on.  While we were banging on about trying to do something and getting no decent information back, it only served to create an arguement that was going further and further off track.

There is a hierarchy in YF and those at the top (rightly or wrongly) make decisions on the direction that this group takes.  If they came out earlier and stated that they had thought about about approaching Terry but decided that it was the worst idea since Amy Winehouse thought to stay in and have a quiet drink at home, then that would have been fine.  Obviously they do not have to aknowledge every half-assed, hair brain scheme that is raised on this forum - only mine.

this is all a little rambly, but bottom line is the following:

* TermX - stop your wobbly lower lip and put your toys back in your pram.  You are good value on here, and your arguements are generally well thought out and put across.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite

You do bring up a good point about Terry ringing Smithy. Means it could be worth a go, but would have to be done in the right way. I really doubt he'll say anything that he hasn't already said, and hes hardly going to say "we're f**ked".

But I see what you're saying.

I feel like you just mussed my hair.

And my lower lip won't stop wobbling until JD stops being mean to me.

But yes, we all just want the Phoenix to continue, and preferably with Terry at the helm. We just disagree on how likely that is, and how open Terry needs to be about the situation in the meantime.

I honestly don't want (or need) to meet Terry myself because I have an image of him being a six-foot adonis who smells like roses that I don't want to shatter. But if the YF intelligentsia are able to get a peace delegation inside Century City Towers and report back with some good news then of course that would be great.

Burgess (and Nipples) have a problem here. Their narrative was that Terry was a greedy crook, and a stupid one, for getting into bed for WGA. Do they have the same opinion of Gary McNabb?

A victim is getting more strung up than the accused.

Other victims are getting sympathy, Terry (who is also a victim) being made out to be some sort of bad guy.

Its weird.

Sorry, how's Terry being made to look like a bad guy? I honestly can't see that in that article (or was it a previous one?).
Also, in fairness, Terry keeps failing to claim the victim card by persistently holding on to the "it's still very very very very very very very very close to happening" card. If he stick up his hands and said, "sh*t, I've been duped too", maybe it would be a different story?

I wasn't talking about that article specifically.

Can't argue with you about how he keeps saying it's close to happening. I can only think it's a ploy that's helped him buy time in court earlier. But yeah, good point.

Why is a story about Gary McNabb going after Ali Syed illustrated with a picture of Terry?

After some abstract thought, I can kind of almost see where you're going with that...
But again, if Terry comes out, says "I've been duped" and distances himself from it all, then that all goes away, and he becomes one of the victims. At the moment the only reason I can see for him not to do it is pride. Unless as Tegal pointed out he is using it is an excuse to stave off even more creditors (which is in itself a scary thought).

Ali Syed and WGA is mostly concerned with his reputation. If Terry goes out of his way not to give him bad PR, that may put Terry in a better negotiating position. Just a theory.

I don't think Ali Syed has any money left to give up though. I get the feeling he is more screwed than Terry.

With Doloras here. Terry has gone all the way down the track publicly backing Ali Syed and WGA consistently. Ali Syed and WGA have NO excuse for not coming through with the money for Terry, unlike several of the other applicants who have turned against him and are now litigating and looking to shut him down.
Perfect opportunity right here for WGA to get some glowing press by delivering on Terry's loan ...and Terry to come up smelling like roses....??

Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

Ignoring for a fact that Ali is a fraud whose accounts have been frozen in 2 countries - he has a million reasons not to come through with the loan to Terry.  I don't know if you have been reading he papers but Terry has:

- has twice been attempted to be put into bankruptcy

- disposed of $50m or $60m of property

- basically being chased all over town by every lender who has money out the door to him

If you were looking at this as a normal situation as a potential Lender Terry's financial situation is changing so quickly that you wouldn't want to lend until the whole thing settled down.  If you wanted an excuse then that is it right there.

The loan won't happen for the reasons stated throughout this thread.  Guys, let's stop with the crackpot theories - this is just so far fetched.  WGA is just not going to happen

Clearly Terry has a Plan B, since players are being signed and paid (even if, as rumour has it, a little late), and he's not quite standing in Midland Park with wee in his trousers selling Batman capes at $2 a pop.

Don't get me wrong, I have long ago accepted that zonknz was right from the start and Syed is a Ponzi schemer and a very plausible grifter.

Heh heh, Matt Nippert has a go at Dave Burgess on Twitter for plagarising his story.

Not the first time Burgess has been guilty of that.
