"Morrison: "We want a club that's self-sustaining"."

Hopefully they means they will up the ante on advertising the games - I'm sure with a bit of warning more people will come

sh*t, Dingo's Son and notorganic are not going to be happy hearing Lyall Gorman talking about building up NZ football and the AWs. :)

Morrison now talking about taking home games on the road. "The fan base is very broad... if you talk to Guy from the YF, the fanbase is everywhere. So it makes sense to look at the opportunity to move around..."

Rob Morrison is thumping into reporters' heads that Welnix has not taken on any of Century City Football's liabilities, only the licence. So Terry still owes Ricki $100,000, I suppose.

This is what interests me. I understand it is a clean sheet, but where do any potential debts go? Still owed by CCF/Terry?

I may have missed it in the presser, my internet connection keeps cutting out.
Sounded to me like they were hoping that FFA might clean up anything left behind. But that's obviously something they've got to iron out. Wishful thinking to expect them to discuss any of that detail today. In fact it would have been pretty silly of them to do it.

Oh great, that dick Michael Brown in the Herald is pouring scorn on the story that Terry jumped before he was pushed. Talk about kicking a man when he's down. At least Burgess's story refrained from gloating.

I was very happy with that. Relieved in fact.
Some great news about players/staff all staying, new skills on board, inviting other interested parties onto board, looking into development pathways.
A couple of minor concerns, lack of football knowledge, cleaning up backpay etc.
But on the whole I think it's great. Amped for us to complete the roster and start the season.
Now I'd better get back to work...

Very good almost-haiku there. But Terry ain't dead yet, and neither is the Nix. Although I think there's a RNZ reporter who needs a punch in the face.

I feel very proud to have created this football club from scratch and I have poured all of my heart and energy into it but I have come to the conclusion that it is time to hand the licence back to FFA, Mr Serepisos said.

This is not an easy decision but I feel it is the right decision in the best interests of the club, New Zealand football and especially the Phoenix fans.

I wish the new owners all of the best in the future and I will always be extremely proud of everything Wellington Phoenix has achieved.

I couldn't actually hear most of the questions being asked on the stream, but from the look on Rob Morrison's face and his increasingly sarcastic answers at least one person keep asking provocative, stupid and ignorant questions. So I'll assume that was the RNZ guy.

Piney just said on RadioSport that there was no actual transfer of the Licence. Terry relinquished his licence and a new licence has been issued to the new consortium. No change of money or debt!

Clean Slate baby!

This is fantastic.

Am now so pumped up for the nix season.

The feeling of dread around the nix is disappearing.

Finally!!!!!!

But Terry will ALWAYS be the man who got NZ Football back on track.

I feel really sad.

But if this has to happen then I hope that all the Aussie teams and fans just did a squirty little poo in their pants.

I hope the new owners will immediately give Ricki the resources to carve up the f**king A-League this season.

Gutted for Terry, hopefully he still get's a corporate box when he wants it. Man's a real GC, and I particularly like the fact that he's stood up and is trying to pay off his debt instead of defaulting and running.

Welcome to the new overlords. Hopefully you can fund some nice new signings, back-pay the players and coaches, and get us up and running for the new season.
